Each day we have new writing -- and new selections on the front page. An important part of this project is to give each other positive, constructive feedback. So add your comments to the writing. Read as a writer. Help out your fellow young writer!

Analysis: Obama eroding Clinton's base

Analysis: Obama eroding Clinton's base - If Ohio and Texas weren't already must-win states for Sen. Hillary Clinton, they certainly are now.

This article and many others prove to us that right now, Obama is clearly in the lead. More than any other candidate, Barack Obama has made a sincere effort to appeal not only to everyone in general, but particularly to our youth. One advertisement specifically stands out to me. It’s on youtube, many different young people are singing about “change.” There is no doubt that it appeals to our youth, as my current issues class discussed the commercial after we watched it. But it’s not just our youth that recognizes this. I work at a retirement home in Shelburne. One woman, who is now 90 years old, said to me, “I know who you are going to vote for.” I laughed and said, “Okay, who am I going to vote for?” “Obama”, she responded with a smile. I was surprised and curious as to how she knew this. So I asked her why she thought that. She simple answered, “Because you are a smart girl.” I would have normally taken that as just an opinion, but when someone has lived over 90 years, they tend to know a little bit more than you.
