Right Now

Right now,
You're all I want;
You're all I need.
You're pretty much the air I breathe.

Right now,
I don't think I can let you go;
I don't think I can say goodbye.
I just can't stand to sit and cry.

Right now,
I feel like I'm being torn;
I feel like I can't win this game.
I feel like I'm the one to blame.

So right now,
You're all I want;
You're all I need.
You're pretty much the air I breathe.

These Words

Confused,
These words,
I don't know..
These words,
The ones said.
What?
Explain,
They don't
Make sense.
I wish,
Only wish,
To have it,
Like you.
My heart
Is being played,
Played like a game.
Fair?
Hell no.
Can I stop?
I have,
It's up to you.
You are
The only one,
Only one
That can
Fix this,
This hurt.
This hurt,
Caused by you!!
These words,
Made this hole,
Hole in my heart.
Full of
What used to be,
Love.

Bright Night

Bright Night

By Jordan Pedro

Walk down the ally
Towards the hotel
Everything is set
Time to move in

Out by the back door
What room was it?
Room thirteen
The one on the end

Go in through the back
Nobody notices
Nobody cares
They’re all paid

Security is gone
Right on schedule
Take the elevator
Stairs are slow

Once upstairs
I go to the door
It’s unlocked
I enter

The tenant’s in the shower
The music is cranked
Must be quick
And quiet

I place the plastic explosives
Next to the bathroom door
I slip out of the room
And leave the building

I walk a few blocks away
And the five minutes have passed
Boom!
The building, and tenant’s, are gone

Test

Test
There’s, Oh no, a test.
What will I get?
65 or 100.
It feels like butterflies flying in my stomach.
I get the test.
It looks hard.
It feels like punching a table.
I get the test back.
I got a 90.
The relief of my nerves has come out.
I am relaxed.

Rain

Droplets fall from the heavens purifying everyone on earth. Minutes later a blanket of water falls. Faster and faster as if a hose is spraying on earth. Then it gets slower and slower, as the last raindrop falls.

Spring

Spring

Spring
Hot like you’re two feet away
From the sun
The wind
As it compresses
Against your face
Green grass
Between your toes
Like you are getting tickled
By a hot girl
Spring

The Kid

A kid runs the streets of fear of getting caught. People call him cool because he is skipping school. Boys envy him. Girls adore him. Kindergarten kids don’t under stand. As he runs. He hears bloodhounds.
The dogs run, chase, and howl.
Then he wakes up in school.
The teacher growls slightly. He scurries to his chair.
He looks at the window for his next escape plan.

Rain

The Rain

By Scott Messer
Benson Village School, Grade 7

It comes from the sky,
Sometimes frozen, sometimes not.
Softly pattering on the leaves and ground,
Making pretty ringing sounds.
It floods rivers and ditches,
Making potholes in the road.
Giving life to all things,
Hidden beneath the clouds.
Animals drink from rivers,
And people use underground springs.
We call it many names,
But our favorite one is rain.

Supper Ransum

One day I was walking to school when Mrs. Gunn attacked me with a plasma canon. Then suddenly Super Janitor saved me from the evil cruel Mrs. Gunn. Then Super Janitor flew away. Then Mr. Ransom took me out for ice cream floats. Suddenly, Mrs. Gunn fell right out of the sky and landed in a chair next to Mr. Ransom. She said, “ I will have a vanilla float with root beer soda.”

Fire

Fire

As orange as a ripe fall pumpkin,
As blue as the deep summer sky.
Sometimes yellow,
Sometimes orange and blue.
It burns anything in its path,
Just like magma.
It has some heat,
But not even as close as the suns heat.
We call it fire.

Ghost Wolf

A wolf is howling in the night. Everyone is in fright. The wolf goes to town. As if a friend has been found. The hunters get ready to fight. The wolf plays in the snow with delight. The people go to the wolf. With guns, flashlights, and knives, but to only to find footprints in the ground. A flashlight goes out. Then a glowing pale wolf appears. The town folks run out of sight, and the wolf howls in the night.

Earth

Earth

We eat from it,
We grow from it.
It is the basis of life,
Of all things.
The trees use the nutrients,
The animals and people eat the fruit.
Without earth we would die,
And all living things and plants too.

Owls

Owls

Wings as quiet as night,
Hunting for prey in the dark light.
Living in trees,
Teaching their children how to fly,
Like ghosts in the sky.
When they spot prey,
It doesn’t have a chance.
Swooping down on silent wings,
Reaching out there talons,
And take the prey.
Owls.

Frivolous

Frivolous

By Shara Rae James
Benson Village School, Grade 7

Frivolous, what a word! I didn’t even know what it meant. I looked it up and this is what I learned. Frivolous- of little importance.
How featherbrained I was, I couldn’t think of a thing to write about. My thoughts were childish, pointless and about nothing of importance. I was upset with myself and got angry I had a fight with a friend even though the fight was minor, small, and idiotic. Light bulb! I realized I was being juvenile. I was being petty and…… Look at this I wrote something. I never thought a word like frivolous would have so much meanings and solve my problems.
