Who I am

Sambo's picture

Strides

i. I walk in strides of supposed perfection, steps of sophistication, and drown myself in rays of destination.  Yet, you can't see my shadow walking three steps behind me.  Sometimes it trips over my body and slows down even more.   Read more »

Embrace of Who I Am

I am
(or was)
homophobic,
I am am homosexual,
so does that make me afraid
of myself?

I used to look at guys
and wonder why I never
found them appealing,
even when the hormones kicked in,
and spent whole nights denying
that when a beautiful girl
brushed against me
I got shivers and my heart skipped a beat.

Who I am

'Who I am' is not the question,

But rather, Who will I be?
For life is not that which I am,
But rather, Which I will be.

I Am

I am different
I wonder if I will live to be 100
I hear people laughing, birds singing, and time ticking
I see fog rising, people smiling, wind blowing
I want to live forever and a day
I am a bright light in an unfamiliar darkness

I pretend to live in a world where nothing can go wrong
I feel indescribable feelings that you would never understand
I touch the ends of the earth
I cry when I glance back and see the things I have left behind and everything that I could lose
I am imperfectly perfect

I understand that one day I will be all alone
I say that if you get a second chance capture it hold it close and don’t let go
I dream of saving the world
I try to expect the unexpected
I hope that one day the war will end and peace will come
I am who I am
