Judging guidelines
Submitted by ggevalt on Tue, 09/18/2007 - 9:55amAll work submitted to this Web site for consideration for outside publication -- Newspaper Series, "My Life" Vermont Public Radio series, Winter Tales prompt with Vermont Stage Company -- is judged by student judges online under the guidance of Lee McIsaac, YWP's content coordinator. In evaluating submissions, judges look for pieces that stand out, have strong voice, fresh content and power.

The primary publication point is our Newspaper Series where your work may appear in: The Burlington Free Press, the Times Argus, the Rutland Herald, The Valley News and/or the Brattleboro Reformer. The YWP Newspaper Series
Submitted by ggevalt on Fri, 08/10/2007 - 5:22pmYoung Writers Project partners with six Vermont and New Hampshire newspapers to publish best student work once weekly throughout the school year, with weeks off corresponding to the schools' vacations. All the work printed in the newspaper, plus selections by our judges that could not fit onto the newspaper pages, is also published on this Web site.
