Give feedback!

Publish your own work in anthologies, class publications, and Web sites

By Liz Matthews

Do you enjoy submitting to the Young Writer’s Project? Do you wish you could see your work in print more often? Here are some more ways to publish your writing.

Excerpted and edited from a 2004 YWP article
By Julia Hewitt
co-director, National Writing Project in Vermont; teacher, Cabot High School

  • Look for opportunities to publish your work: find writing contests, submit letters to your local newspaper, ask your teacher to create an anthology of student work, or create an online blog.

  • Consider publication as a part of the writing process, not a prize for writing. Send your writing out to the world!
