The Amazing Kacie

The Amazing Kacie

Kacie is the best
She gets A’s on all her tests
When I’m with her we don’t get rest
She likes to sleep in a nest

Kacie is cool
She always goes to school
She looks pretty when swimming in a pool
Her body is like a mule

Kacie is grand
She likes a band
Sometimes she gets sand….in her pants
One day she will decompose and become the land

Kacie is my hero

Graduation

Graduation

Waiting for the day to come
When I can complete my task
Finally feel accomplished
I’ve been working for so long
Waiting
Waiting to move onto the next step
Begin my life
But now, today
All I can do is wait

Breaking up

Breaking Up
I cannot hear you
Huh? What is that you just said?
Crackle crackle end

fear

Fear

By Kelly Davis
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10

As your blood begins to rush
And your face turns to a flush
One side of me says to fight
The other pushes for the flight
Ahhh, I’m scared

premonition

Kelly Davis
I can sense it coming
Feeling, without knowing
What is it, where is it
I do not know, but I will soon
I wait, limbs shaking
A shiver runs down my spine
The image is not clear
A blurred future awaits me

Waiting

Waiting.
Watching, listening, waiting
Wanting, wishing, waiting
One moment, never ending
Seconds drag, and time slows
To the speed of the universe
I wait, for knowing
I hope, for this eternity of warped time to come to close
To find out, what I want to know

Green life

Kelly Davis
The snow is melting
All life becomes new again
Start of beginning

Muddy Muddy

Muddy Muddy

it squishes and squashes between my toes
where it all comes from nobody knows
creating an ooy gooy mess that shows
but the temperature warms as the winter slows
and not a second to early the 5th season goes

Untitled

One hand rises to cover his sore eye, the other one quickly raises to the other
A firm hand is laid upon his shoulder forcing him stumbling backward
Laughter is heard in the distance, “c’mon kid fight back”
Words and letters are rushing inside his head, trying desperately to form complete thoughts

Role Model

Role model

A figure in your life
Showing great respect
Tis one who you look up to
You see
You learn
You grow
To admire one is one thing
To be admired is the next
For gaze around and take note
At the people who surround you
For one of them could quite be
Looking up at you
Remember how it felt to you
As you watched your role model
And show your onlooker you can be

Global warming

Kelly Davis

Global Warming

To resolude this problem
Awareness is the key
For how can one put forth a hand
When success he does not see

Set forth an easier plan
Make change the upcoming goal
For when their help is plain to see
Courage will atop the knoll

Action must set forth today
Though no result will be seen tomorrow
A common ground we wish not to leave

The real world

Kelly Davis
The Real World
Looking back I think that 9/11 has been like a wake up call for the US. It has opened our eyes to reality and shown us that we are not as safe as we think we are.

Backyard

Backyard
A place of comfort
I have known all of my life
Protecting the house

Mistake regret

Mistake, Regret

A feeling of grief
One of great desperation
Hangs low over head

Things I wish undone
Rewind is not an option
Never to forget

-Kelly Davis

Small space, Big things

Small Space, Big things

I pull open the door and what do I see
But pieces of myself staring back at me
Dresses of all sorts hang upon themselves
Stuffed bears and pillows are nestled on shelves
I peak to the right and painted on the wall
Is an image of a place that I once saw
The ocean waves crash and a palm tree looms
white sand is below and small flowers bloom

Life is like a river

The Path of Life

Three

Three

The third time’s a charm
But three strikes and you’re out
One and two, try and miss
But when three comes about
What’s this number to me
Does it hold any value
It’s all but a game
None could be so true
Thoughts in your head
Controlling your mind
Constrict your ability
And put forth a blind
They disable your view
So you cannot see
That all of this nonsense

Too young

Too Young
I am too young I should not work
My hands are tired and my feet ache
Why oh why do they force me so
Those mean and terrible men
I get paid little yet know a lot
I hear people talk all around me
The murky air fills my lungs each breath
And the heat sinks through my clothing
Why oh why do they force me so
Those mean and terrible men

Mothers white blanket

Mother’s White Blanket
Snow falls heavy from a frost bitten cloud
Children dance and sing aloud
The first one of the seasons come
And cheeks are red and fingers numb
A small boy opens his mouth up wide
And lifts his head up to the sky
As a small snow flake drifts slowly downward
and lands gently without a cower
The heat from inside gives a puff of white

Sibling rivalry

Sibling Rivalry

Mom loves me more
No that’s not true
This fight is nothing new
I got a B
But I got an A
Whose better I cannot say
I scored a goal
I made a catch
Success I cannot match

The rivalry it never stops
The fighting is ongoing
We strive to win and be the best
But neither is unknowing
On and on it will prevail
As older and older we grow
It will not stop nor ever end

Blurred vision

Kelly Davis

Blurred Vision
So though I may be of a young age, I feel that I have come to a fair and reasonable conclusion. Teenagers are extremely stupid. I am myself a teenager of sixteen years old. My friends are teenagers, their boyfriends and girlfriends are teenagers, and they all do stupid stuff.

the magic within

The Magic Within
Imagine a magical world
I gaze around and what do I see
But a place full of peace and harmony
Everything is neat all tasks are done
A person with a frown cant be found not one
Yet I open my ears and what do I find
Not a voice or a word of any kind
This scene is quiet with a calmness about
Disagreements are solved without even a pout

Rain man

By Kelly Davis
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10

Crinkled pages pull me in
To the world of ink that lies within
Swirling and whirling I pull myself out
But I’m somewhere I know nothing about
I look around and what do I see
But a swarm of people surrounding me
They cheer and shout and lift me up
Til I am high up on a mountain top
They yell my name, they scream out loud

Memories are such

Memories are such

The floor boards creek on the stairs very steep
Up into the attic I go so deep
Covered in cobwebs I pull out an old box
Memories step up like a stranger that knocks
I shift open the lid and shine down my light
through the shadows I see a parcel tucked tight
I reach in to retrieve with an anxious hand
And out does protrude the coat of a man

I expect that I would

I expect that I would

By Kelly Davis
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10

My parents always expect the best
Whether with friends or on a test
I must work hard to achieve what I can
On my own not a helping hand
Sometimes I wish I could fly away
To a land where I could laugh and play
Where school is not a worrisome fright
With just me, myself, and I in sight
