Tuckerman's Ravine
Submitted by Reddog on April 29, 2008 - 13:42.The wind, the snow, the ice
When climbing up this monstrous mountain
You begin to think twice
The environment was barren, no animals, and no trees
Just snow, everywhere
But the temperature read sixty five degrees
The sun was shinning brightly, lighting up the sky
No clouds, no trees, just rocks and snow
From the top the mountain side seamed to glow
The beautiful sight I saw
The mountains ranges, the amount of snow, and the valley down below
From this incredible height
My heart began to ignite
Skis strapped to our backs
We unhooked them in a flash
The snow we began to attack
Skiing down the steepest slope
At that moment I could only hope
That we would be able to make down in one piece
As the atmosphere decreased
I felt safe, I felt at peace
Waiting
Submitted by Reddog on March 13, 2008 - 11:34.As the day drags on
As the hours begin to pass
Waiting for something to happen
Boredom, I begin to surpass
Sitting here my mind begins to wander
My time I slowly squander
I hope and wait in anticipation
For something to bring me out of this damnation
All is quite all is still
I feel as if the world is coming to an end
Slowly falling apart beneath my feet
Green
Submitted by Reddog on March 5, 2008 - 13:25.Green, Green this is what I mean!
In this season nothing comes between.
Warm summer heat
And a cool summer breeze
With the bright summer flowers
Green running through the Vermont trees
Green this is what I mean
Mud
Submitted by Reddog on February 28, 2008 - 12:28.Mud
Look at this nasty crud
It over here
It over there
This nasty stuff is everywhere
It squishes and squashes in between my toes
When will mud season be over, no buddy knows
Every other season has something special
Winter has snow
Summer as sun
But mud season is just no fun
Bullying
Submitted by Reddog on February 28, 2008 - 12:27.It’s a terrible act
It’s a terrible fact
That all people do
Attacking others and leaving very few
Bullying is a disease
It will never cease
Destroying people with the simplest of ease
We have to stop this
I ask you please!
Pride
Submitted by Reddog on February 28, 2008 - 12:26.Pride is something that you hide inside
Pride is something you recognize
Something that lies behind the eyes
Pride is an overwhelming feeling
It builds and builds it’s the strongest of feelings
Pride it what lies inside
Cheating
Submitted by Reddog on January 30, 2008 - 12:36.Cheating it happens everywhere you look
Eyes staring at your paper over a book
Being ever so sneaky like a crook
Cheating it like a disease
It spreads with such ease
As soon as the test comes out
Look out!
Protecting your paper from adventurous eyes
Trying to keep your answers away from those other guys
Once the test is over and the battle is done
Fake it
Submitted by Reddog on January 30, 2008 - 11:51.Fake it,
You can’t escape it
You try to run and hide
The guilt you try to abide
Get it finished, get it done
The stress weighs a ton
Hurry now, losing time
As I hear the school bell chime
To late now, got to fake it
You want to run away, but you just sit
Time is up, you don’t want to commit
Add a little here,
A little there
You don’t care where
Turn it in
What it comes down to…
Submitted by Reddog on January 9, 2008 - 13:10.Where will we be at the end?
Will the wrongs we have committed amend?
Look at what we are coming to
Does it seam fair to you?
Famine and disease
Trashing the environment, we do it with such ease
Understand that it is time to recover
Its time that we look over
What we have done
And prepare for the future if it is not undone
Does the world look fair?
Do you really care?
Backyard
Submitted by Reddog on December 11, 2007 - 13:23.The icy glare of a snowy winter's day
Is never too far away
It was cold and bitter in the daylight
The shine of the ice was so very bright
Trudging up the mountain face
My foot steps, you could easily trace
Hiking high into the sky
I stop, and look behind
Grasping my sled so tightly
I turn and jump on my sled so blindly
That I don't see the van ahead
And Smack!
The Big Mistake
Submitted by Reddog on December 5, 2007 - 13:17.That one Mistake
Makes your mind goes blank
You try to compensate
Your fate
Begins to illustrate
Signs of depression overtake
Tears are innate
From the lies you create
You shake
It is like an overbearing weight
You can’t escape
But friends will help renovate
Your state
The hope they make
Bring on recovery that is never too late
That feeling of hate
Begins to dissipate

The Closet
Submitted by Reddog on November 27, 2007 - 12:40.It lies in the corner of my room
Old and decrepit like a tomb
Its aged wooden doors swing open and closed on rusted hinges
Its dark blue paint
So frightening, and so plaint
Many crack litter its shell
Almost like the liberty bell
It collects dust in that corner
All by itself, like a loner
That’s what it shall be and that’s how it will stay
The First Snow
Submitted by Reddog on November 20, 2007 - 13:22.The snowy terrain
I can see it out my windowpane
Trees drenched in snow
The hills overcome with a whitish glow
A land covered by an icy mask
My sister asks
“Can we go outside?”
Emotions rage like an unrelenting tide.
A soft cool touch upon my nose
The wind begins to blow
The snow comes down
Down, under the clouds
Continuous chill
I feel my happiness begin to spill
3#
Submitted by Reddog on November 16, 2007 - 11:39.Three to me is as free as a bird in a tree
So many interpretations
Make so many elations
Three is a number
Three is a time
Three is so very fine
Three is the number of kids in my family
Three is a part of the code on my locker
Three is free
This is what three means to me
What does it mean to thee?
The Boy
Submitted by Reddog on November 7, 2007 - 13:04.The Boy
By Henry Farrand
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10
A young cotton worker stands before me
Older than three, but still younger than me
His age I can not say
But lightened by the day
I can see
His cloths are warn
Ripped, tattered, and torn
His suspenders held tight
While his faced is overcome with piercing light
Such a strange expression on his face
Siblings
Submitted by Reddog on October 30, 2007 - 11:42.By Henry Farrand
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10
A sister, a brother
And me as the other
They much younger than me
There is a line that you can clearly see
I am older,
They are younger
But that doesn’t stop
These fights that we may opt
It begins with a simple remark
Then we begin to embark
Into a rampage of anger and dismay
I just want to say
“Stay away!”
Hunting
Submitted by Reddog on October 22, 2007 - 12:07.Hunting
Walking on the forest floor
Making my way through the forest
Holding on to my rifle
Heart beating
Mind racing
All is silent
All is calm
MOVEMENT!!!
A Deer runs by!!
Reaching for my gun
Ready
Aim
FIRE!!!
One more kill
Make my way home
To enjoy a tasty meal.
Ghost and Ghouls
Submitted by Reddog on October 10, 2007 - 10:42.There is a house just north of ours
Said to hold a witch with evil powers
She concocts and brews
Some very strange stews
Making these strange potions with great elation
She begins her incantation
Bring on Ghost and Ghouls
And so began their rule
Bring on terrible fright
In the middle of the night
Made of strange light
They begin to disappear out of sight
Super Powers
Submitted by Reddog on October 4, 2007 - 10:36.Super Powers
If I could have super powers
I would scale high towers
Villains would cower from the sight me
They would try to flee
From sea to shinning sea
They could never escape me.
Flying high in the sky
These skillz you can not buy
If you try you might just die
This ain't, no lie!
Don't Cry!
Super hero makes his way
To save another day
Everyday Persuasions
Submitted by Reddog on September 26, 2007 - 12:21.Everyday Persuasions
By Henry Farrand
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10
Persuasions of the day
Affect us in every way
Thoughts you kept to yourself
But then changed by someone else
Ideas and memories held once dear
Changed by sound for slightest ear
Persuasion to me
Is like looking through an eye you cannot see
Reading people
Knowing that they may be feeble
Using your mind
Expectations
Submitted by Reddog on September 18, 2007 - 12:31.Expectations
Expectations of us are Expressions of ourselves.
Expectations of me I would like to decree to thy but how to say I must think of a way. Wait and see as I flee, Let me be, and you shall see that my minds eye you shall never deny.
As a child I was very wild.
Making, breaking, mind racing.
