Fishing in the Night

The night is dark and cloudy,
I cast my line afar,
And from the murky waters,
I caught myself a star.

The Last Time

The world in one perspective.
I’ve never known anything else.
I watch the pebbles passing under my feet.
Keep to myself.
All I’ve known.
From one place to the next,
It’s all the same.
Blind to the beauties surrounding me.
Randomly shocked into life.
An unexpected awakening brought about by such a small factor.
The world has become vibrant and clear.

Faking It

Faking It,
Sucks;
Get caught in a lie,
Something that’s not;
Never get out,
More work than I thought,
Should have just done it,
But I didn’t,
I put it off,
And now I regret it.

Depth of Performance

The heat of the lights blind my eyes
No longer can I run or hide
I am on stage for the world to see
Although I am trapped, I am also free
Free to express whats inside of me
All my thoughts and feeling I can let go
Creativity is able to flow
Simply standing, vulnerable to those who view
If only they knew
Speaking your truth is harder than you think
For some they don't even blink

Infinite Magic

Infinite Magic

By Antonina Marie DiNatale
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 12

A point of my finger,
a flick of the wrist.
love will soon linger
a happy little trist.
A simple spell
It doesn't take much
all will burn in hell
with a gentle touch
of my magic, it makes
a peaceful soul shake,
Frogs start to moo
Ghosts scared to say "BOO!"
because of my magic

Peace Power

Peace Power

By Antonina Marie DiNatale
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 12

A power much greater than anything else
A force which no one can defy
Not one to be simply put on a shelf
Or in a book surrounded by a lie.
A magic not for a fairy tale or elf
But only seen in the beholder's eye
A power that's bigger, not just a crease
A power to bring everyone happiness

Super MAN

Strength that overcomes all
Ultimate flight
Power beyond belief
Energy that comes from the sun
Run faster than a speeding bullet

Punch that can break through concrete
Overcome human limitations
Will save the world
Ever lasting life
Radio active powers
Super jump

Fat Man Stan

The fat man Stan.
He was so lazy and crazy.
He did nothing for himself
Others did his work
Even grabbed him his fork.
Stan persuaded with money
It really is all quite funny.
Because Stan had cash
He always sat on his ass,
paying others to do stuff
Always ate more, never enough.

The Anonymous Box

The simple possesions
of meaning to only one.
The necessities of the soul
Carried in a box,
A box of ordinary porportions.
No representations of the importance within.
However a home for the objects,
that speak a story of life.
The traces of someone's essence,
the pieces of their spirit.
Now known for history
Held in a common box
Only simple possessions.

Box in the Attic

Max Cassano

Box In The Attic

There is a box in the attic,
Full of old memories.
Ones past,
And their ancestors past,
Together at last.
All of these memories,
Reminders,
To be opened when one forgets.
Or to be opened,
By someone new.
A passing stranger,
Or a guest.
To some an old box,
But to others,
An ancient chest of memories.

The Everyday

Silence is precious in a place like this.
the intimate lives of others speak,
softly, as if whispered,
yet so loudly at once.
The subtle hints of ones inner being,
scramble into an environment
of anonymity and personal mission.
Only momentary interaction,
Social collision is often avoided.
However, when words are spoken
almost nothing is said.
