Submitted by zeusfireair on Fri, 05/24/2013 - 10:17pmI wrote this in around ten minutes for a prompt I found elsewhere on the internet. The prompt was: We killed the gods. We didn't know what it meant at the time, but now we're beginning to find out.
I have done absolutely no polishing for this yet, but, here you go!

Realm of Kreasoh, Chapter 3
Submitted by Grace on Mon, 05/20/2013 - 4:28pm
When I opened my eyes I saw the soft blue of the sky. I listened intently but more then anything, I felt the gaze of someone--or something--looking at me.
As slowly as I dared, I pushed myself into a sitting position. A slow throbbing in my head made me feel sick. Then I saw a little man with a big scruffy beard standing before me with a sword held to my throat. I did not move, only waited for the panic that was consuming me to pass.
I closed my eyes again and took a few deep breaths before opening them, but the little man still stood there. Read more »

The Rain Will Fall, Chapter 27
Submitted by Misty on Mon, 05/20/2013 - 12:53pmAzul's mind was reeling, rapidly trying to think of excuses for the awful sight she had seen. No matter how much she denied the sneaking suspicion. Beside her, Kira tossed and turned fitfully in her sleep. Azul looked away from the pitch black forest and curled her tail around Kira, resting her head back down once again next to Rohan and forcing her eyes shut.
Morning came slowly. The storm had simmered down the last few hours of night, but still rumbled in the distance. Strangely enough, no dragon seemed to be disturbed by the awful storm except Azul and Kira. The blue dragoness awoke to find Kira staring at her intently, as if she were some unknown jewel. Azul opened her mouth to speak, but a presence interrupted her words.
We need to talk.
Azul immediately knew it was Kira. A burst of concern and anxiety emanated from the echoing words Kira had sent to her.
I know. But here is not safe. How about in the.... Azul was about to say forest, but the memory of last night cut her off. She looked around, her eyes scanning the field for a better place then where they were.
Over there.
Kira motioned slightly with her hand to a pile of rocks near the forest, but comfortably far enough away to Azul's liking. Azul nodded. Then, as if given an unspoken command, they both stood up and made their way to the rocks.

I ran as fast as my nimble legs would carry me, stumbling over roots and stones. When I fell, I feverishly stood on shaky legs and continued to run. I had no idea where I was going. All I cared about was finding Sorif and bringing him back home safely.
What would my parents say if they realized Sorif was lost in the forest they had told me never to go in; that it was all my fault? ‘Do you promise to never go in the forest? To never lead you or your brother into danger?’ Read more »

Holding Back, chapter 2
Submitted by Misty on Fri, 05/17/2013 - 2:30pmI dreamed of my day. Not my classes, but what happened in between them. My dream was still fresh in my mind.
I walked out of my second class, math still buzzing in my mind. My friends were talking incessantly to each other about what they were going to do this weekend. When they asked me what I was going to do, I opened my mouth to speak but became muted as the kids from the next class came out. My eyes didn't seem to notice my friends starting to move forward in the line. I only noticed him. My always heart fluttered when I was him, but it almost pounded out of my chest when I saw him walking towards me. The tips of my ears became red, and my cheeks flushed. His green eyes met my blue, our gaze locked for a moment. Then, right before he was in front of me, he ducked his head and swerved around me.
Bitter disappointment replaced the hope that had bloomed inside me. I stood staring at the spot where he had last been. It was only when people started pushing me forward with their binders and books did I look away and move forward.
Ever since that small, no, microscopic connection, I've been thinking of him and that moment. "Jason." I softly mutter as I stand up from my bed, stretching my arms above my head. After a quick sigh and a brief brushing of my brown-blonde hair, I open my door and walk out into the hall to greet my mom.

"we must fit you in armor." she said escaping my gaze. I took the daggers of of the rack and followed shankera. She lead me in a room full of a mor of different colors and sizes. She fit me in silver colored armor. It was light and I could move easy in it. There where also slits in the armor for me to fit my wing through. Shankera gave me a hair band and silver hoop. "Put your hair up so it won't get in your face and put this hoop around your head." I did what shankera told me to do. Then I put my daggers in there sleuths on my hips. shankera lead me out of that room. "Now we must see how you operate in battle." she said walking in a room. The room had golden walls but nothing else. I herd the door shut behind me. I turned and saw that shankera was not behind me any more. I looked around on alert. I could feel energy surging through my body. That same energy before I killed that demon. Then solders popped out of no where and attacked me. Two where charging at me. As soon as they got a close I jumped up in the air took out my daggers and landed behind them. I slashed at them like a viper. They collapsed and diapered. Then I was moving so fast it was like I couldn't control it, but I embraced it. I was spining and slashing. I moved like a cat, quick and agile. Then there was no more solders in the room. "SNAP OUT OF IT!" Sabrina swatted a magazine in my face. "We have to work on our science project or we will fail!" The dim lighting of my science classroom entered my mind again as I slowly came back to earth. Sabrina sighed "We will find your phone, no worries, it's all good." I sighed back at her and said "It is hopeless." I looked down at our scence project, the bright coloring job I had done the day before looked bleak in my sad mood. The bell rung and Sabrina frowned "We better finish this after school." She said gesturing to the almost finished poster. I nodded and stood up. She said " I'll text you next period because I have a study, so I'll work on it. You have French right?" I almost burst into tears. She abrubtly stated "Nevermind I won't, I admit it is hard for me as well not having your phone." I nodded and she walked into the study room. Sabrina had been my best friend since first grade. I texted her in almost every subject. It was going to be a long day without my phone. I said it one last time before walking into french N-O P-H-O-N-E!

Submitted by MatthewK on Wed, 05/15/2013 - 12:11pm"I have been tired of killing all these zombies. I need to find a cure for making zombies turn into humans, but how? I do not know where I am and the zombies are coming." "BRAINS!!!!" I hear them calling. big bird jumped out of no where I quickly pulled out my sword. *SLICE!!!* *CHOP!!!!* He fell down. I started to sprint. There was a mob of people from Sesame Street!
The mob was sprinting even faster. They flashed up but I chopped them down all at the same time. That time I realized that that was not all the Sesame Street zombies, there was ELMO. Elmo was twice the size and powerful. His claws were so sharp. He's eyes where red and black, and looked like a hell hound.
He darted forward right at me. I pull out my C4 and throw it and ran back as far as I could and BOOM!!! The noise made my ears ring and my hand vibrated.Pieces of Elmo went everywhere.
Then I saw a building it said Cure For zombies. I said,"This was here the whole time!!!!" I ran inside and took a bottle of zombie cure, and ran to the tallest building. I pored it out and it went every where.
The sun came out and the flowers bloomed and Sesame Street was turned back to Sesame Street. That was one of the most scariest dream of my live.

“Fiona! Fiona!” My eyes flashed open. “Fio--” Sorif stopped in my doorway, just realizing I didn’t get up as early as him. He looked down, ashamed. “Remember yesterday?” He continued, almost in a whisper. “You promised you would throw the frisbee with me.” I sighed. I had said that I would but I hadn’t meant this early. Sorif had been given a new frisbee for his birthday. I pulled up the sleeve of my night gown where my watch was still strapped around my wrist. It had been so late by the time I got to bed last night I forgot to take it off. The morning light was dim, and I had to press the light on my watch: 7:45 AM. It was still pretty early but I was already awake so...
“Why don’t you go get the frisbee while I get dressed.” Sorif smiled, face radiating happiness, and skipped out of my room. I slid out of bed and dressed. Read more »

Two friends, part two
Submitted by Sarasface on Mon, 05/13/2013 - 6:00pmShe watched the girl come closer, unsure why she was on the edge of the park bench, practically gripping her hands together with anxiety. Alma's behavior was nothing out of the ordinary, for her. She acted with wild abandon, and while some seemed to admire her total freedom, her lack of inhibition, others seemed to be intimidated, overwhelmed...did they disapprove? Alma seemed not to care. She said she didn't, anyway. But Lucy couldn't imagine that--not caring. Being scolded and not ducking her head, humiliated, refusing to meet anyone's eyes. She looked away from Alma's wild boldness sometimes when they were together as if it was a light too bright to look at. The dark-haired girl reached the blond one on the bench. They were similar in size and attire--two pretty teenage girls in the outfits they often wore to church. Lucy wore a white blouse with blue buttons and a matching blue bird-patterned skirt. Alma wore a pale green blouse and a floaty green skirt patterned like sunlit summer leaves. Their appearance was classically picturesque, and they looked like a postcard image, like they belonged together. The two girls were very different. Lucy Corre was a quiet girl, polite, but that didn't explain it, not really. Alma Belle Almeda, Lucy's dearest friend, was beyond anything Lucy could explain. The way she acted seemed too much, too sweet, too bright, too exuberant--too real to be real, Lucy often thought. Read more »

Two friends, part one
Submitted by Sarasface on Mon, 05/13/2013 - 11:24amShe sat straight on the park bench, her golden hair gleaming in the bright sunlight. She always felt slightly guilty over enjoying such a day--or, indeed, over any deep enjoyment at all, though she was not sure why. But, preoccupied as she was, she told herself to enjoy it while she could because soon the brief reprieve would be long gone, her mind consumed with chasing after each individual thought, worry, and care, all of which still lingered at the back of her mind, nibbling on her enjoyment--jerking it around a bit. Her pale, slender arms were folded primply in her lap, clasped over her blue patterned skirt. With envy she watched little children playing in the park. A part of her longed to join them, but no. It wouldn't feel the same, and anyway, it would be odd. A near-grown, nicely dressed young woman running barefoot shrieking among the children, swinging on the monkey bars while her skirt fell over her head. The image made her laugh, but deep down she knew that her laughter is hid rue and longing. She wanted to be a child again. She discreetly squeezed her thigh beneath the skirt and sighed. Herbody and half her mind knew that she was a woman now, or nearly. It had been a long time since she was proportioned in such a childlike way. Then, up the pebbled path came a dark-haired figure in green; she sats up a little straighter, eager to meet her friend. Though the other girl was her age, she was skipping, barefoot, sandals in hand, her hair coming loose, smiling to herself. Read more »

A woman, cloaked and hooded, stepped from the trees and stopped near the edge of the clearing. She stood there for a few moments before hissing into the darkness. The night suddenly quieted as if it where waiting for something. Then, from the distance a pure black bird alighted at the woman’s side, red eyes flashing dangerously. The woman looked at the bird and smiled sweetly as she ran a finger through it’s long glossy feathers. Read more »

Three Wishes
Submitted by Samantha818 on Wed, 05/08/2013 - 11:51am
If I had three wishes my first wish would be to own the fastest four-wheeler made that could go through almost anything, get over almost everything, and would have tracks that I can put on so I could ride it even in the winter. My second wish would be to own a huge jacked up truck with huge fifty-two inch tractor tires, that would rarely break no matter what, and could also go through anything! My last wish would be to have a huge log cabin out in the middle of nowhere with hundreds of acres to hunt and go riding on.

Submitted by Kelvey140 on Tue, 05/07/2013 - 12:46pmI stood in the hall, head down and avoiding any eye contact. As soon as I saw an opening I snaked my way to my class. This was my routine, though its not exiting. Until today. I was walking down the hallway when I saw a girl, but no ordinary girl. She was Emily. Everyone was a jerk to her, mostly because she had a birth defect that made her face look lopsided. Today a group of boys were harassing her for the fresh cuts on her wrist, they called her an "attention seeker." I watched, and so did most of the people in the hall. I was disgusted. I never liked bullys, nor did I act like one. I went through my time of being called a freak, and a retard. I never knew that being a tomboy was against the popular code, but now I just keep to myself and let others get bullied. As I watched I noticed her crying, and something inside me churned. I watched as a boy raised his fist, ready to punch her, to get the crowd riled up. I snapped, fury burned in my chest as I stormed through the group, pushing my way past people to get to Emily, as soon as I was next to her I realized the choice I had made, and I couldn't turn back. "Leave her alone!" I shouted at them. "There is nothing wrong with her! Why do you guy need to destroy a life to get satisfaction!?" The crowd seemed taken aback by my actions. "Awww, do you love her?" One taunted. "No. She is my friend, and I wont let you low lives hurt her any longer." I snapped back. Emily tilted her head, and for the first time ever I saw her smile. Nobody helped me when I was in need, but that doesn't mean I will let others suffer what I did. Read more »

Daisy Duke regularly took up the chore of walking her dog, Lula. She loved to get out of the house and smell the flowers in the field not far from her neighborhood, but mainly she just wanted to get out of doing her homework. The sky was blue with hints of pink as the sun set on Sweden again. Daze, as her friends called her, noticed how late it was and decided now was a good time to head home when she heard a pop and the sky flashed purple for a split second. Daisy looked around and saw Lula barking and running off towards the gothic manor that belonged to the Wonsages. As Daisy ran after her dog she spotted a purple bolt of lightning arcing towards the Wonsage Manor courtyard. Read more »

Rafael
Submitted by lorijlewis on Fri, 05/03/2013 - 9:13pm
Dear Diary: Today my brother Archer and I rode to our first day of school on our new 18th generation hover boards. When we told the automatic computer at the door of the school our ages, it said that Archer was in the 10th grade and I was in the 9th grade, so we were kind of disappointed.
Right before Archer went in the classroom, I shouted, “Wait,” and threw a communicate watch to him. He said, “Thanks,” then disappeared into his class.
I had fifteen minutes before class started so I went in to meet my teacher.
“Hi” I said.
“‘Hello! What is your name?”
“Um, Rafael.” I said quickly.
“Hi Rafael. My name is x2-e7, and I am your new teacher!”
“Nice to meet you, x2-e7.”
The teachers are always robots, so the school doesn’t have to pay people.
School was basics for the 1st day, but it was fun.
When I got home from school, Archer was already there sitting by the elevator.
“Hi Archer,” I said. He didn’t answer. ‘”i Archer!’”I nearly shouted across the room.
He jerked his head up and said, “Sorry,” before getting up and walking to one of the dining room table chairs. Then I went over and sat across from where he sat.
“Um. hi, Rafael,” he said as soon as I sat down.
“Hi, Archer,” I said for the third time.
‘”hat did you do in school today?” I asked curiously.
“Hard stuff. Really, really hard stuff.”
“Really? We had easy stuff. Just basics.”
“Lucky.” Read more »
