Magic

The Ballad of the Land

This is my land for me not you
I love this land it’s mine
In my land there are sweet kisses
Chocolate kisses are fine

Oh how I love my magic land
My magic land is sweet
It sort of taste like vanilla
Its many different treats

It is sunny during rainfall
It’s happy when I’m sad
It’s bright when the world is so dull
It’s good when I am bad

The Ball

You dance
Into the moonlight
The diamonds on your dress
Glistening
It is the night of the ball
And you
Are very excited
***
In the woods the love of your life is watching you
Admiring you
You
Are so beautiful
He wasn’t the perfect man
But she loved him
As much as her
Teddy bear from
When she was little
Oh no
Here she comes
***
You are walking towards
The woods

HARRY POTTER!!!

I bust out my wand
I'm better than James Bond
I see Voldemort creeping about
so i change my route
i cap that buster in his head
with a stunning spell i learned in defense ed.
he falls down with a smash
he gets up and in battle we clash
Hermione and Ron come to my aid
I'm not falling for his charade
I pull out the death stick
and throw Voldemort a kick

Magic

Some people say magic
Is an unknown thing
An unreal thing
A wish of make-believe
Just a whimsical
Dream.
But I know better.

I know that everything has
Magic
And that every word
We speak holds
Magic
And that every breath
We take has
Magic
And that every sight
We see has
Magic

Magic is invisible
Yet visible

The Origins of Alchemy

The Origins of Alchemy

By Remy Vogler
Champlain Valley Union High School, Grade 11

From his tower, the Alchemist watched. He watched the world around him change, shift, and boil, like a primordial cauldron. He watched cities bloom and shrivel, forests spring up like weeds, and rivers etch themselves through the earth. He watched, and recorded what he saw. He had all the time in the world.

Infinite Magic

Infinite Magic

By Antonina Marie DiNatale
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 12

A point of my finger,
a flick of the wrist.
love will soon linger
a happy little trist.
A simple spell
It doesn't take much
all will burn in hell
with a gentle touch
of my magic, it makes
a peaceful soul shake,
Frogs start to moo
Ghosts scared to say "BOO!"
because of my magic

Everyday Magic

Everyday Magic

By Sierra Hutt
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10

Uncontrollable giggles
Singing out loud
Dancing to the radio
Listening to the sound
Of a bubbling brook
The voice of a friend
Falling snowflakes
On your nose
Kayaking on
A late summer lake
The rustle of the leaves
Hands intertwine
The smell of baked cookies
The irreplaceable times
Of everyday magic

Magic Man

Magic Man

By Sarah Dayton
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 12

Seen the magic man manuever
He's a crazy man, he walked right through her
This man, his magic was great
He weaved through the world like a magic snake
The people he worried, off they did scurry
His magic was rare, many did it scare
He casted spells left and right
Impairing many people's sight

Magic

Magic

By Jamie Fauteux
Fairfield Center School, Grade 5

Magic

There’s a magical land
That’s covered with sand
It’s a source of great might
And always has light
But it was hazy
And people got lazy
Then it got dark
People went crazy
Order was out
You could hear small kids pout
The world was all evil
And out came Kenevle
He was the new ruler
Who mad the temperature cooler
He hated liars
But loved big warm fires
And if you don’t lie

My Alarm Clock

My mom gave me her old alarm clock simply because she got a new one, or so I thought. About a week later I learned why she had so happily passed the alarm clock onto me. At about 4 in the morning the alarm clock began buzzing. At first it was quiet and monotonous slowly waking me up, but then the buzzing noise grew louder and louder!

The Death

The Death

By Michelle Ballou
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10

You’re a witch, if Molly says so,
You’re a witch, if I do too.
You’re a witch, if you do magic,
You’re a witch, so fantastic.
You’re a witch, with a birth mark there!
You’re a witch, now face the snare!
You’re a witch, is the snare too kind?
You’re a witch, I change my mind.

For A Friend

For a Friend

By Julie Boyd
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10

I’m sitting alone at a table in the library staring at the book I’m supposedly reading, but not taking in a word because my mind has wandered away from English and onto a friend. My mind stays on this friend for so long that I completely forget where I had stopped in the text. I gaze back at the wordless letters floating on the page and suddenly they no longer resemble letters or words of any sort. They’ve formed a picture of a soft, gentle and loving face. The face of a friend, and once again my mind has wandered upon an unwanted territory including a friend I love.

the magic within

The Magic Within
Imagine a magical world
I gaze around and what do I see
But a place full of peace and harmony
Everything is neat all tasks are done
A person with a frown cant be found not one
Yet I open my ears and what do I find
Not a voice or a word of any kind
This scene is quiet with a calmness about
Disagreements are solved without even a pout

my magical World

My Magical World

By Miranda Shepard
Rochester High School, Grade 9

I lay my head down on my pillow,
And the world becomes a haze,
I open my eyes to see everything different,
I smile with such ablaze.

This world is very different,
Too good to ever be,
It’s almost magical,
All the differences that I see.

Alpaca’s speak English,
Pigs can fly,
Trees grow money,

This Is For You

This is For You

By Liz Spier
Mount Mansfield Union High School, Grade 11

each star blossoming with a sullen rose,
the smile melts and fades into pure light,
twisting and turning about the flesh,
each thorn prickling the memories swirling above your head,
and you, dancing peacefully in the floating fashion,
your hair whipping around in a laughing shower of rain,

Magic

Magic

By Hailey Elitzer
Charlotte Central School, Grade 8

When you are little
Magic is all around you
Whether it is…
Santa Claus
The Easter bunny
Leprechauns
Or just the magic that occurs when you are having a good day

As you get older
Magic seems to fade away
Santa and the Easter bunny
To you
Become your parents
Leprechauns that quickly dodge out of sight

The Great Fairy Tales

Magic is just in your imagination
Why believe in it?
I just can’t see why
How can you believe in such a thing?

Snow White’s a phony
The seven dwarves, yeah sure
And that witch, she’s just ugly
She’s employed mopping floors

Cinderella, what an heiress
She says she cleans the sooty fires
And her pumpkin is a carriage
No, it’s all lies; she really bakes pies in Kentucky

Magic Waters

In my world
There will be lots of waves
They would lap up the bad
And let the good swim in peace
Magic would waver everywhere
Whoever loved would take
When bad would take
Ocean would wake
And everyone would turn against
Then finally
The bad would shake
And the good would overtake

Magic

Magic

By Briana Patten
Mount Saint Joseph, Grade 9

It was the middle of the day
and class is a bore.
Jimmy Jones is entertaining
but I wanted more!
My attention span was running out
and drool ran down my face.
The next thing that I knew
I was staring into space.
My mind wandered aimlessly
like a bum without a cause.
It drifted from place to place
