Invective
Submitted by Special on Mon, 06/28/2010 - 7:38pmShe draws deepthroat wishes
with every footstep closing
in. She pulls a million years
of baggage tied with lace
to her fingertips. I promised
they were double knotted- she
made me swear and I swore
hard.
She is approaching me with
beautysmiles and lips lustrous
and purple with mistakes she'll
never admit she made. I
catch each breath, hoping
maybe she'll take my gift with
open eyes, I'm so tired of

Photo Prompt #4-The Semblance of Generations
Submitted by Sambo on Sat, 06/26/2010 - 1:43pmThe girl has angel wings,
a gleaming essence
and fragrance like a rose.
Insecurity streams around her,
a veiled barrier to the outside world.
A semblance of uncertainty--
Should I do this, or not...
Tranquility lingers about,
only seconds away from intervention.
Trepidation falters around the girl,
and she might as well be shaking.
The woman’s beret slips to the side,
her duffel bag weighing her down.
Each step is a second closer,
a breath nearer,
and just a letter away.
Lonely Wanderer (Photo Prompt 4)
Submitted by artisticthoughts on Fri, 06/25/2010 - 8:11pmWalking down these streets,
twisting and turning
with nowhere to go,
but on and on away from all her fears
and insecurities,
alone.
Long since left her home,
she wanders through an urban jungle,
one that none should have to ever live in
because these streets are now her home
and she wanders them endlessly
with her duffel bag and her thoughts and hopes
for a better tomorrow,
for there has to be something better than this,
there must be a reason for her life.
