Mine is better than yours

Mine is better than yours

By Colleen Shouldice
Mount St. Joseph Academy, Grade 9

People think grandparents are old
Mine give me wisdom
Others are crabby
Mine are energetic and fun
Others drool
Mine chew sugar gum
Others yell at the neighbor's children
Mine invite them in for lemonade
Others cannot compare to mine
Mine are the best

SAT's

Waited all my life for this test
Tried to get some rest
Who knew that a test that stands for three letters
Knowing this decides my future
Thinking I was about to cry
All those bubbles, all over the page
I started to fill some with rage
Fear is taking over me
Faking that I had none
Forty five minutes says the proctor
Ready to quit and walk out
Then I realize it is only a test

Stage Life

I am just about to go on stage
Song comes on
My favorite one that I like to sing
I start tapping my foot
I look to see if anyone is watching me
Then I start singing quietly
Louder and louder I get
Hoping I don’t forget the notes
I now am finally singing
thinking if someone is watching
I do this spin move
I turn around
Millions and millions of people are watching

Impatient

Impatient

By Colleen Shouldice
Mount St. Joseph Academy, Grade 9

There once was boy who was the most impatient person, he was so impatient one day he decided to not eat lunch at school because it took to long to stand in line and wait. He thought could be doing much better things than eating. His favorite thing to do was to text on his phone so he always had time for that. So during the lunch period at school he would text and text and text. Nobody really knew who he was texting but they knew that he was texting because every once in a while they would get texts from him. So one day when he did not even realize a teacher came up behind him saw him texting and took his phone away. In his school the rule was two day two dollars meaning you get your phone token away for two days and then when you go to get it back you have to pay two dollars.
The boy could not believe it his phone was his pride and joy he needed it to keep his social life together. He tried to tell the teacher that it was lunch period and that is it free time. He also tried to use he excuse that he was texting his mom to tell her he did not have a ride. But the teacher still took it away. The first day he still did not eat and he would try to reach into his pocket for his phone but nothing was there and he started to getting impatient. He started to get so impatient that he would bring work to lunch and do it just so he could keep his hands busy.

role model ...

People ask me who is my role model all the time. The answer to that question is that I do not have on. I do not consider anybody my role model. One thing I do, do is look up to people. But the thing is I look up to many people. The only people I try not to look up to I celebrity’s.

many times

Study for the test night before
School pranks
Last time I’ll…
Tried something different
When on a date with someone you knew was not going to be good
Last time I’ll…
These are things that I would do on a dare
Even though I knew it would not come out fair
Last time I’ll …
Is saying I am going to start following
Even though I will probably take my part
Last time I’ll

Cheating

Cheating

By Colleen Shouldice

Who up for the test
Head in a mess
You think do I have to
You have to pass
But you would have to pass with no class
You start to look around the room
I took my time thinking it would be just fine
The bell rings
I tell myself you did it
You made it through the test
You did not pass

Competition

Getting My Permit

So I turned 15 in July but decided to put off getting my permit because I could not get drivers ed until next year so it did not matter whether I go it then or if I got it in January besides the fact that I would be able to drive sooner. Everyone was like you are not in a rush to get it, which I kind of was just to see what driving felt like .So finally I made that appointment.

Skater's Dream

Skater's Dream
By Colleen Shouldice
Mount St. Joseph Academy, Grade 9

My window is open
I wake up smelling the clean crisp air all around me
I put on my sweat pants and sweatshirt
Grab my skates and I am out the door
I run to the pond
I lace up my skates
Making sure they do not break
I race all around till I am warm
I grab my stick

Sibling Rivalry

Well for being so close in age. Being Close in age means that there is definitely rivalry. I have two siblings and older brother we are two years apart and a younger sister who is 4 years apart. I am most competitive with my older brother because we are so close in age. This has started ever since we were little. Now a day it is different because we are in the same school.

Powers...

Once upon at time in Mr. Cosgrove English class he assigned this project that we had to write what we liked most about school he said that it had to 5 pages singled spaced and 12 font. We all thought that he was the worst person ever and that this was going to be the hardest paper ever. He said we had a week to do this and it was a big part of our grade.
