decisions

You Made Your Decision.

You made your choice.

Now that I think about it,

you made your choice a long time ago.

You know that I'd do anything for you.

I love you so much, you know that.

Yet, the feeling isn't exactly mutual.

I know you love me, and you have since we met.

It was what, a year and a half ago?

Something like that.

You came to our school.

You appeared to be, well,

different to be honest.

But that changed when we were introduced.

You're such a good friend of mine now. Read more »

Crossroads

There's a fork in the road.
A simple choice.
Right?
Left?
Is it possible
to not choose at all?
Standing there,
stalling,
trying to make the
"right choice",
we twiddle our thumbs,
and wait for inspiration.
A guiding light.

It could change
everything,
or nothing,
and will it really matter
in the end?
Sometimes,
there are crossroads,
where the decision you make affects
your whole life.

They do not come often,
and yet,
sometimes we are not even aware
that we are at
a crossroad.
Sometimes we welcome
a fork in the road,
the chance to make a difference. Read more »

Answers

Answers never
really come out
when probed for, but
instead wait and
pool inside, overflow
when the time isn't
right to reveal
secrets kept deep,
the ones the haunt
your sleep, leave
you broken with
more questions
decisions, of where to
go from here
Time heals all wounds
but maybe some
gashes are too big
with graves burried
under earth too solid
to dig and maybe
when the sun explodes
and we all dissolve like
evolutions stories, vauge
and broad, the questions
will all be answered
nothing left to probe
for, but be in the
confines of our minds
forever

in gloom.

it is the decisions we make
that we believe to be correct
that cause us to look through windows
with hallucinatory hopes and dreams.
that, by our own fault,
will never be fulfilled.

what we could have had is what we want,
what we do have is what we dread.
and it is obvious that nothing could take us
back again to where we
were.
even though we thought it could happen.

and the memories come stampeding into
our delicate minds again.
does one ever sit and think that
situational perfection could be attained?
after all, it is simply a matter of
one’s own opinion.

and if this is based on life events,
and the road to love and wishes
should probably be the road we choose to travel.
but acceptance in society
and what is expected of us
always gets in the way, no?

but when that path is finally out of reach,
one knows there is no way to turn around,
that is when our body aches with
regret, lust, want.
even though we could have had it. Read more »

Hard,
easy,
deciding,
choosing,
when,
why,
what,
where,
who,
and how.
Why are some decisions hard,
And some easy.
What are the consequences ?
Who do they affect?
Where do they lead me?
So many questions when it comes to decisions.

Week 16: Decisions -- Megan Harvey

More as you get older
By Megan Harvey
Rochester High School, Grade 10

As I have gotten older, I have noticed that I have been faced with more decisions that I have to make. Things like who I hang out with, and what I want to do, stuff that can get me into trouble. When I was younger, my parents made decisions for me, like when I was sick, they would know when to give me the medications, and all I would do was be sick. Now, it’s a whole different story. It’s amazing how when you grow up, everything becomes harder to face and deal with than when you small. Read more »
