Champions!

It was the day before the championship game. My team had made it. I was very excited. I had never played in a championship game before. My team’s name was the C.S.B Hawks. We had played 6 games. This game would be are 7th game we play in this tournament. We were going to play Hartford. They’re really good and very BIG, as well.

Happiest Day of My Life

I remember being in the airport with my great grandmother. I had never been to Vermont. I didn’t even know what Vermont was. I came here on a really big plane. I was going to meet my new mom & dad. My great grandmother had a funny kind of leash around me so I wouldn’t wonder off. When I was in the airport my mom heard my great grandmother holler out my name, “Devron get back right now”.

My Trip to Buke Sure East

“Are we almost there!?” I yelled. “I have a stomach ache! It hurts! When will we get there?”
“We are almost there,” my mom said. Then she went back to her conversation with my dad.
“Elspeth move over!” I cried.
“No!”
“Mom, Elspeth won’t move!” She ignored me.

My Dad's Hunting Trip with Me

Boom! Wow! That scared me. Before he shot it was running through the field. Bang! My dad fired, but missed. He fired again, only this time he hit it. It was still alive, so bang he fired again. Yes, he got it! He got a deer. Man, I was so scared when he shot the first time, that I shook the camera that I was using to tape it.

Roller Coaster

Sitting on the hard, cold, concrete steps and looking at the huge guitar at the entrance of the Aerosmith’s Rockin Rollercoaster, I was wondering if I could really build up the courage to go on it. There I sat for at least ten minutes until my dad and sister got off the ride. “That was the best rollercoaster I have ever been on!” said my dad. “Do you want to go on it?” he asked me.

Snowboarding

I zip up my jacket and slip on my boots. I was finely going to learn how to snowboard. I’d been planning for such long time. Zoom! I was off to Middlebury Snow Bowl!

Friends

Forever

Remembering, great memories.

Interesting things kept inside.

Endless fun times

Needing each other when times get rough.

Deciding, together what we’ll do.

Sister we are and will stay forever.

Time Heals

Time Heals
By Simon Verkaik

Time heals everything, or so they say,
One more chance, I beg and I pray,
Mistakes have been made, live and let live,
But nothing can heal until we all forgive.

It runs through my mind everyday,
And I sit with my head in my hands with nothing left to say,
I’d do all in my will to make it right,
But deep down I know I can’t erase that night.

Looking Up

The girl lies in the glittering bed-like snow, moving her arms and legs to the rhythm of the angels' wings. The snow forms to the sound, and she stands up and steps away to admire her work. As she wanders back into the house, she hears the phone ringing in a distant part of the house, the refrigerator mumbling and gurgling, the dryer sucking away the moisture from newly laundered clothes.

Memory

The biggest day of my life
The biggest game
The pressure
The intensity
The building rise of power
Who will triumph over all?
Who will claim the name of number one?
There are many losers, but only one winner
We are going to be that winner,
We are Woodstock Union High School Girls Soccer

My Memorable Weekend

There was applause everywhere, and a standing ovation. It was a great show and a great audience. The show was Night at the Opera and the day of the last show was November 4th.

I Remember

By Rebecca White
Hartford Memorial Middle School, Grade 8

I remember the sounds of crying children and women screaming at their husbands. Parked car alarms barking down the street with ear bleeding capacity. The smell of gasoline along with the ever present food rot stench burned my nostrils. I had never taken notice of these common things, thought that everywhere was like this place. Just like a mouse born and raised in box wouldn’t think there was another place beside the box itself.

The Cove

The long sickle shaped sands of White Crescent Cove shimmered beneath our feet, as if the shinning sun itself had broken into one million golden pieces. The tide was high, and though the sea was calm, the waves still crashed endlessly on the shore. The salty and soothing waters of White Crescent Cove matched the sweat covering our backs as we trod up the beach, seeking adventure.

Off She Goes

The day had finally come. JoAnna, my older sister, was going off to college. It was early Sunday morning and my sister barged into my room and woke me from a deep sleep. “You have to come help me pack!” she spoke in a loud voice.

Memory

I remember one very dark night in Essex Junction, my dad and I were driving near Road Res-Q, when a drunk driver was going the wrong way and hit us in the rear of the car! It made the car swerve a little.

Bus Stop

As I was walking to the bus stop, my sister ran up to me and told me something. She found her lucky rock!

Memory

When I open my closet, I see my dresses hanging there, suspended in the air.
I see some of my belongings on my hanging shelves.
On my one built-in shelf, I see unicorns, dragons, pottery, dolls, and boxes of jewelry.
On the floor I see a stack of magazines; National Geographic, Sierra Trading Post, and L.L. Bean, all have a place beside each other.

A Memory by Joey Payea

I have a memory I will not soon forget.

Winter Wonderland

Freshly falling fluffs
Dance to the ground
As I make sweet, smiling angels
With spread arms
The flakes swirl to my lips
And I reminisce the sweet snow
In my winter wonderland
Of frozen tears

With One Comes Another

With my heart and open arms I loved you
With my love you came to hate it
With my love I fought the depression
With that you loved the depression
With my dreams I dreamed you always loved me
With my dreams I gave you nightmares
I began to wonder about you then I gave up
With my pain of us never together again
With that gave you faith of our lives.

My Weekend

Last weekend was a lot of fun. My family and I went to Tuckerman Ravine to ski. We trekked up the mountain for three grueling hours until we finally reached the base camp. After we put on our ski cloths, we hiked up to the top of the bole and skied down. All of us were telemark skiing. It is one of the best feelings in the world to drop the knee into a big arching teley turn.
