14. Procrastination. If you had more time, you’d be able to put it off longer. What do you put off to the last moment? Why? Tell a story about how you just barely got something done in time – or didn’t.
Alternate: Splat! Use that word in a story or a poem.

A Hopefully Poetic Anecdote

I’m on the ferry and my computer seems to be my only source of entertainment at the moment. I have an iPod, but no headphones. I have a phone, but no one to call. I have a wallet, but nothing to buy. So I must resort to good old Microsoft Word.
I was recently dragged away from the comfort of friends and warmth at our school feast before going off to vacation. The term “feast” is applied very loosely in this circumstance because I was about to dig into my bread and vegetable soup when a teacher entered and informed me that the last ferry was coming in and I had to go immediately. In a bewildered frenzy, I dashed about the small building looking for my coat, gloves and hat. Finally I was in a car being driven to the dock.

Winter

Snowflakes in my backyard
My snow fort is my guard
Hot cocoa I drink a lot
Snowflake, a tiny dot
Snow is cold, I am freezing
Luckily I’m not sneezing
I’m not scared of a white hare
Though I am scared of a polar bear
I like watching icicles
till the summer I won’t eat popsicles.

Ice Crystals

There were little ice crystals falling from the sky
They covered the trees the road, and the houses
You could call it your winter wonderland
Down the little ice crystals came
They covered the roads like a blanket and the trees like a pillow
You could go to sleep in your own big bed
These little ice crystals are something I call SNOW!
