Breaking

I have never felt so
emotionless

as when her tears
pushed their fat bodies
out of her red-streaked
eyes, creeping down
her face, creating
a puddle of
transparency-beauty
on her lap,

and all I could do
was sit there,

staring,

wondering why I've become
so hard.

Away

he wants
to give up
to sit in
his room
accompanied only by
his music
and do nothing.

he can't take
anything
anymore
he's tried
to work harder
but it just
keeps getting
worse.

he wonders
why he hasn't
given up
caved under the stress
and let it carry him
away.

he never thought he was strong.

Messed Up Zoo

“ Cluck, cluck, cluck,” went the duck.
“Moo,” went the Kangaroo.
That’s borderline a porcupine.
My day at the messed up zoo.

The seals gave me banana peals.
The penguins flew away.
The monkeys dance really funky.
Chickens in the ocean bay.

The lions ate baby carrots,
The hippos climbed the trees.
The giraffes were really short,
And don’t get me started on the bees.
