What We Want
Submitted by Usagi on January 10, 2008 - 21:28.Caring and strong and
Smart,
Yes?
And new and traditional and
Inspiring,
Guess?
And trustworthy
And truthful
And having to sound
Better than the others.
How many pledges are kept?
Think.
Yes.
Ever wonder why?
Step carefully, voters.
We've handed the reins over before
To someone who's taken the other path.
Don't you know all politicians lie?
Yes.
Ever wonder why?

Obama, Clinton, Mcain
Submitted by sk8ergrl on January 10, 2008 - 15:00.I personally hope Obama wins. In class we talked about it too. Some say that Obama won't win because he is african-american and Clinton won't win because she is a female. I can't believe that this country has become so racist. We need a new person to clean up the mess in Iraq. I know a few people that have brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers that have gone to war in Iraq.

Dividing a Nation
Submitted by jared2009 on January 10, 2008 - 14:47.Republican and Democrat, Red states and Blue states,
when will it stop, the dividing has begun,
as a nation we must come together,
but the way it is going we are coming apart,
it's time to unite, it's time to stand
we must unite as a whole for a better future
not for the united states, not for north america,

Primaries. Gambling at its finest.
Submitted by Gildron on January 8, 2008 - 16:53.They strut and preen, hoping for acceptance.
Spinning webs of lies
Lies that are hard to untangle.
The honest ones are shunned.
No one trusts a truthful politician
They must be lying. Lying is what we pay them to do.
Everything is fine.
I didn't break your country.
Some candidates are fine, they have beautiful feathers.
That one is a war hero! Look at him shine.

YWP Newsblog: New Hampshire voters don't trust Hillary

New Hampshire may support Hillary, but they don't trust her. - The latest out of New Hampshire shows Hillary Clinton's lead slipping to a 14-point margin, but that nearly 70 percent of New Hampshire respondents think she is going to be the Democratic nominee. The CNN/WMUR/UNH poll (PDF) suggests that Clinton's opponents are struggling to convince voters that they can be viable candidates in the general election. Half the respondents said Clinton was the Democratic candidate "tough enough to stand up to the Republicans." Clinton looks to reinforce that narrative with her newest ad.
After closely following the last round of elections, I have given up on politics. And after reading this article, it's clear to me why I did so. I started seeing politial campaign ads nearly five months ago, before school even got out for the summer. It struck me as odd that anyone would start that early, little less than a year and a half before the elections. After all, it's proven that humans tend to remember newer information, and forget all the old. So by the time the nominations came around, those who started advertising would be left with nothing but money spent. It wouldn't give them even the slightest advantage.

If Elected ...: Obama Envisions New Iran Approach
Submitted by liv.a.little on November 2, 2007 - 08:20.If Elected ...: Obama Envisions New Iran Approach - In an interview, Senator Barack Obama said that forging a new relationship with Iran would be part of his effort to stabilize Iraq. [NYTimes -- National]
I like the idea Senator Obama has for his approach. He acts like he respects Iran and its people, instead of considering them an opposing force that needs to be controlled and guarded. His approach would be very beneficial towards withdrawing the troops from Iraq and creating a safer Iraq because, if it works, Iran would no longer be providing Shiite groups with monetary support and weaponry.
