Walk down the ally
Towards the hotel
Everything is set
Time to move in
Out by the back door
What room was it?
Room thirteen
The one on the end
Go in through the back
Nobody notices
Nobody cares
They’re all paid
Security is gone
Right on schedule
Take the elevator
Stairs are slow
Once upstairs
I go to the door
It’s unlocked
I enter
The tenant’s in the shower
The music is cranked
Must be quick
And quiet
I place the plastic explosives
Next to the bathroom door
I slip out of the room
And leave the building
I walk a few blocks away
And the five minutes have passed
Boom!
The building, and tenant’s, are gone

Benson Village School, Grade 8
Early we rise
From our beds so warm
To pull on work clothes
And head to the barn
Start up the milkers
Bring in the cows
Fill the bulk tank
Go home for breakfast
Fill our bellies
And head to the fields
For a long day's work
Jump in the tractor
Hitch up the mower
Head for the hay fields
Chop down rows
Of alfalfa and grass
Come through with the baler
Stack the bales in the wagon
Drive to the barn
Pull up to the hay mow
Pitch the bales on the elevator
Lift them to the mow
Stack ‘em tight and neat
Climb out of the mow
Sweat pouring off our bodies
Get a cold drink
Run to the milk house
To start evening chores
Shovel the silage
Scrape the stalls
Bottle feed calves
Distribute hay and grain
Throw down new sawdust
Close up the greenhouse
Walk back to the barn
Spray down the pit
Clean off the milkers
Wash the bulk tank
Close the gates
Wash off my boots
Shut off the lights
Jump in the truck
Go home and shower
Hit the sack
Can’t wait
To do it all over again

World War Three was between the New Allies and the Second Axis. They are fighting over who will control the exports of China to their own countries. Most of the battles will take place in the Pacific Ocean and in the trenches of Australia and China.
Suicide
Submitted by JordanP on January 29, 2008 - 08:54.Suicide
My whole body hurts
Inside and out
This is depression
The beginning of it all
So many things to think about
Should it be quick?
Or should it be drawn out?
Which is easier ?
Knives?
Rope ?
Gun ?
Which should I choose?
Which will end it soon?
Just get it over with
I can’t take it anymore
Death is better than this
I grab the .45 from the draw
Stranger
Submitted by JordanP on January 29, 2008 - 08:52.Stranger
I’m leaving work
A day at the office
When I notice a man
A stranger in the shadows
He’s just standing there
Not loitering
Not busy
Barely existing
I walk by
Trying not to notice
The man lurking by the door
Almost an evil spirit
Once out the door
I breathe a sigh of relief
I start to walk
A swish breaks the silence
Cold metal breaks my skull

The Shooting Gallery
Submitted by JordanP on January 28, 2008 - 08:55.The Shooting Gallery
I run down the trench
Dodging a hail of bullets
I fall in a hole
Full of mutilated bodies
I jump up and run
Scared of what could happen
I don’t want to die
Want to escape death
Death wants to engulf me like fire
I hear machine gun chatter
And feel the spray of bullets
I stumble and fall
Next to a fellow soldier
The blood is running down my side
The Walk
Submitted by JordanP on January 28, 2008 - 08:52.The Walk
I’m walking along
With a sense of foreboding
I feel something
That’s not right
I shrug it off
No one could be here
I’m completely alone
And then it hits me
I feel the bullet
Before I hear the shot
It rips into my chest
I’m dead on my feet
I slump over
The blood running free
Weakness comes
I cannot move
I hear a rustling
I see movement
The Silent Watcher
Submitted by JordanP on January 28, 2008 - 08:48.The Silent Watcher
A stranger
Standing in the dark
Watching
Waiting
This man
A predator
Other humans
The prey
Unsuspecting people
Roaming without aim
A perfect target
For this lethal killer
He kills for money
He kills for pleasure
For whatever reason
He kills
Only the best for him
Best employer
Best equipment
Best pay
He can kill you
150 different ways

Death
Submitted by JordanP on January 23, 2008 - 08:43.Death
Death is a cruel, lifeless thing
That closes in all around you
It’s an unforgiving cold
That grabs you and won’t let go
You won’t feel a thing
Once you slip away
It feels like unconsciencousness
You stay in the black
Death is unsettling
Because of the unknown
It is dark
As dark as night
There is no Heaven
There is only Hell
Only a pit,
Of toil and despair
Blood
Submitted by JordanP on January 14, 2008 - 08:56.Blood
Blood
A red river
Flowing from a wound
Or a body
Blood
Coursing through your veins
But when spilt
It’s gone
Blood
Dripping down a face
Of a body
Lying cold in the street
Blood
A product of war
All over the ground
Staining the earth forever
