Lorrie-Ann Is Home
Submitted by emr2220 on Sun, 02/21/2010 - 1:44pmI walked in the woods
the animals moved
they cracked and hooted
until I was scared.
The bats circled me
they squeaked
I squirmed.
I looked
and I looked
Nobody around.
The eyes looked at me
and I looked at the eyes.
They moved closer
and soon I felt fur on my knee.
A bark and a howl,
That sealed it.
Lorrie-Ann was home.
My pet,
my dog,
my animal.
Lorrie-Ann is home.
A Polar Bear
Submitted by KyleR on Fri, 02/12/2010 - 12:11pmShe scans the tundra with elderly hairs
Over “Davy Jones Locker” on the pressure ridges, it’s bare
Colorless in the nomadic fantasy, she stares
Under her rubber feet she battles the frozen blanket
The whipping winds disturb the silent emptiness
From her maternal den she awakens
Werewolf
Submitted by Nyx on Thu, 02/04/2010 - 1:24pmIn the darkness of the night
the full moon has risen into the sky
there is a certain need to fright
Because, perhaps, this is the night you might die
the full moon has risen into the sky
once a man, now an animal
because, perhaps, this is the night that you might die
is this creature, perhaps, a cannibal?
Once a man, now an animal
sharp fangs, long claws
is this creature perhaps, a cannibal?
amber eyes, large paws
sharp fangs, long claws
in the darkness of the night,
amber eyes, large paws
there is a certain need to fright!
Life
Submitted by imagine on Fri, 03/21/2008 - 11:10pmIt confuses me how
they can stand up
for animal
rights,
and then
eat one
the next
day.
Makes me wonder
just how much
ignorance
is under their
skin,
that I
can't
see.
