Violent (i)
Submitted by Usagi on Mon, 03/16/2009 - 9:15pmDo you know how it feels
to hit a friend?
She was reaching only to
tousle my hair
& I slapped her hand away
& stopped, startled, staring
at my arm
swinging without my permission--
------my consent--
------------my control--
& fought the irrational urge
to laugh.
------Reflex--
I said. I didn’t
------mean to--
but she cringed away & held
her knees to her chest,
---------as hurt and surprised
as I.
Do you know how it feels
to hit a friend?
To strike the soft inside
------of her arm
------of her trust?
To react by a reflex
I didn’t know I had
didn’t know could hurt?
To slap her hand away
------and laugh?
Do you know how it feels
to lose control?
2 in 1 poem
Submitted by Schila on Tue, 03/03/2009 - 9:24pmThis idea randomly popped into my head this morning, and I decided to follow through. My idea was to take two poems, combine them into one, and make every other line the other poem. Then somewhere near the end they would intertwine, and become one.
As the westerly winds
did blow,
I found myself
walking farther,
and farther away
from home.
The blizzard was
Captivating.
I was inside it!
Trillions of little
snowflakes,
violently twirling,
twisting,
jumping
on the wind.

The door from Sopenix’ office opened to a long hallway with glass walls. On either side of me were small, hewn stone chambers. Each chamber had a person and a demon in it, and each chamber seemed to exhibit a different method of torture. One chamber had a man who was completely sheathed in flames writhing on the floor. Another room was so full of what appeared to be killer bees that it was hard to tell what else was going onside. Yet another chamber exhibited a man being lashed with a whip of chain links, and heated to the point that it glowed orange.
I was horrified. People were being raped, beaten and tortured in ways I had never imagined before my eyes by demons that seemed to be enjoying themselves and all I could do is stand and watch. I broke into a run. Read more »

Life Taken For a Lie
Submitted by NinaKnorr on Sun, 05/18/2008 - 9:28pmGun shots ring out in a darkened, black night
Watch the life ebb from the man who suffers the bullet of this horrid, threatening plight
Watch his eyes as they change into something endless: death and demons; consumed with fright.
Hands are torn
As they scream and succumb to a poisonous; mathematic atmosphere
He says "you can save me, only you my dear, hold me tight and hold me near"
The snicker sound of the blade, oh so sheer
Was the only thing to listen to, the only thing to hear
Watch his eyes as the life ebbs away turning night into day
Watch all the problems rush in, attempt to fend off the death, get in it's way
There's no compromise with this cold and complacent creature that's only mission is to put life's final breaths at bay
Does he fill with regret as he watches the man he shot die?
Anyone does, how could you even ask why?
He wondered where this man would go, below the earth, or into the sky? Read more »
