Nothing Better Than Being a Vermonter
Submitted by Jordon18 on November 21, 2008 - 11:50.I love Vermont. I live in Tunbridge, Vermont and I have my whole life and I love pretty much everything about it. Everything is so peaceful and so beautiful, and the close knit community that we all live in, never makes you feel alone and should never leave you scared because someone is always right there if you need a helping hand, or just a friend. The biggest event that happens in Tunbridge is of course the fair. The school closes down because all of the kids are down at the fair, showing their best cow, or other livestock. The town glows from the lights off of the rides, the smell of fried dough fills the air, and everyone is just there to have a good time. Growing up in such a small town in my opinion has made me a better person, because it has made me appreciate everything that I have, and I have learned so many things about how you don’t need much in life to have everything.
My Best Friend
Submitted by Jordon18 on November 13, 2008 - 15:56.I've always had friends, some longer than others but to me the time that we have been friends doesn't really matter; it's who has been there when they said they would. An example of one of my friends being exactly like this is my friend Chantel. We have been friends since we were a year old, and through the years of us growing up, all the changes that we have gone through emotionally, physically, and with our families we have always been right there if one of us have ever needed someone to talk to, someone to listen, a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to laugh with.
Facebook vs. MySpace

I am not a fan of Facebook, but I am an addicted MySpace user.
I first joined MySpace my freshmen year in order to have more contact with my friends while on I was on vacation or during the weekends. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I thought it was so cool that you can do so many things on it -- like making your page your very own by finding a cute layout that you like, posting a favorite song and putting up cute pictures. It's also a good way to talk to your friends whenever they are on. If they aren’t on-line you can leave them a funny comment or a message.
I decided to join Facebook because I heard people talking about it and I wanted to see what the hype was all about. To be honest, at the time I wasn’t impressed, and to this day I’m still not.
In a Daze

I’m just in a daze,
Floating along.
Nothing to think,
Nothing to speak,
And nothing to feel.
Just another day…
Another day of monotony.
I like day like this,
Where I’m off in my own little world.
Thinking what I think,
Dreaming what I dream.
Nothing to interfere,
And nothing to fear.
Just floating along,
Being me.
My Rebellion Years, and Now
Submitted by Jordon18 on October 3, 2008 - 11:21.I went through my "rebellion" years at a young age when I was in the fifth grade. My friends and I thought that we knew everything, and that we could do whatever we wanted, and that our parents were the worst people around. My friends parents let them do pretty much whatever they wanted, and mine didn't. I couldn't wear make-up, I couldn't wear the clothes that I wanted to wear, and I couldn't listen to the music that I wanted to because all were a little too old for my age, and I didn't see that. So I started sneaking around, lying and not paying attention at school, so not only did my home life suffer, but so did school and because of that I got held back. I hated my parents for doing this to me, my friends were going to move on without me and I just thought that they were trying to control everything that I did and they didn't care about me.
