A Small Place to Love: A Great Place to Live
Submitted by PreppyChocolateMoose on November 20, 2008 - 20:08.From the majestic Green Mountains to the peaceful, blue waters of Lake Champlain, beauty is everywhere you turn in Vermont. The four seasons accentuate the already magnificent landscape. Winter is when the snow arrives, blanketing the countryside and cities alike with a fresh coat of white. Spring breathes new life into the trees and vegetation. Summer is a great time to swim in one of Vermont’s many lakes and ponds, or just spend time outdoors. Fall paints the leaves with hues of red, orange, and yellow.
Like a Puzzle
Submitted by bananasandcreme on November 1, 2008 - 17:50.I waited in the distance,
You were close, yet so far away.
I could feel your breath,
I could hear every step you took.
But as soon as you got too close,
You turned your back,
And walked in the other direction.
Leaving me standing there,
To break into a million pieces.
It’s like I’m a puzzle,
Ready to be pieced together,
Can’t someone save me?
Can’t someone bring me out
From these shadows that surround me?
I know it won’t be you,
With your back turned,
I thought you would be the one to save me.
But instead, it’s her.
It’s her you save.
And you think everything is perfect.
Until she turns her back on you,
Like you did me.
It’s karma, isn’t it?
Now you’re the puzzle,
Broken in pieces,
Waiting to be put together.
You turn to walk back towards me,
And you honestly think
I was to wait for you?
When that was all I did before,
Was wait for you?
And you honestly think
I’m going to put you back together?

Discovering Lake Champlain

Vermont’s history is full of discoveries. Throughout time, people have discovered slate, granite, marble, maple, arrowheads, fossils and, if we look back far enough, we even have evidence of the discovery of our largest body of water, Lake Champlain. The saying holds true, you can find anything if you just dig deep enough.
The best way to explain the discovery of Lake Champlain is to elucidate some things about the person who discovered it. After all, the lake is named after him. Do you know who I’m talking about? If you said Samuel De Champlain, you are absolutely correct.
