Following Madmen
Submitted by Vazrtre on Thu, 05/23/2013 - 7:21pmEvery day he took us far away
And showed us the sights
We never could've seen
Of planets and stars
And the wars of gods and men
To the edge of time and beyond
Whirling around in a small blue box
With the energy of an eternal child
Laughing at danger
And heralding death with a grin.
We smile and run along,
Hiding the damage, fear, and pain,
For who's to tell a madman
that he's not sane?

Disappearance
Submitted by sixofclubs3 on Wed, 11/14/2012 - 11:26amThe boy saw her standing far away from him. The sky watched him as he moved towards her along the street filled with trash. He wanted to speak to her. He moved within the rays of the sun, and he saw her from behind still. He moved faster, his legs carrying him through the papers winding along the road because of the wind. It picked up, and the blue sky filled with clouds. The sky was now grey. His eyes grew wide as he reached her, and he touched her shoulder. She turned around, smiled at him, and folded her arms. His pupils dilated, and his breathing quickened. He loved her, and he couldn't do without her. She cocked her head toward the left.
"I was waiting for you."
"I am aware. You do know I'm in the power of my instincts. I have to do the right thing. I cannot stray for one moment."
Her lips pursed. "Are you ready?" She asked.
She stared upwards at the sky, and the clouds circled, a perfect cutout of blue stared down at them with malicious hunger. But she wasn't afraid, and knew he could never be afraid. Well, almost never.
"We'll move on to tomorrow. Maybe we can fix our mistakes there." He said. He grasped her hand, and looked into the wild blue. Then they were gone. And the blue circle disappeared.
Celebration of Life
Submitted by artisticthoughts on Fri, 08/13/2010 - 9:26amWARNING: this may seem a little depressing & like a sorta mockery of funerals, but it's just what i want when i die & i recently was watching this show and realized that u never know when you are going to die & u should just enjoy life while you have it.
I've always said that when I die
I want my coffin to be blue,
my favorite color.
& people laugh at me,
saying they love my personality
& my love of life.
(they don't understand)
I do want my coffin to be blue,
light blue
like the sky on a warm summer's day.

Dreaming of Blue
Submitted by wolfgirl312 on Wed, 04/21/2010 - 12:23pmIt must have been 300 degrees outside and climbing. My brain had long ago turned to mush and started to ooze out of my ears. A too-hot-to-move day.
Despite this unbelievable heat, I managed to trip up the steps into the relatively cool shade of Mr. Ferra's front porch. It didn't take too much effort, considering that his house practically shared a lawn with mine. Read more »

Baby blue
Submitted by scobop on Thu, 04/08/2010 - 5:22pmBaby blue is the sky on a summer morning
before the clouds have time to
wake up and form.
It's just below the surface of the lake
when the sun is shining on it.
Baby blue is the peek of happiness
that comes after sorrow.
It tastes like a fluffy snowflake on a
clear and cold winter's night.
Baby blue is the light that bounces off
a fish's shimmering scales.

Blue Swirls
Submitted by szczerbakscomet on Mon, 03/08/2010 - 10:13amBlue Swirls
By: Derrick S.
Epic shades and twisted swirls
Employ the senses to music and harmony:
Peace, shine, soul.
I see the sky and water,
Amounts to blue in a few seconds.
They dance, laugh, and learn
All at once; see them smile.
Mr. Morison's Blue Wall

Bright, radiant
Glittering, gleaming, beaming
Most brilliant color blue I’d ever seen
Shocking, glaring, blinding
Loud, overdose

It was the most brilliant color blue I'd ever seen; and it was too bad it's peaceful aura couldn't have soothed me any longer. I peered over the ledge, they were coming, full speed, dashing up the mountain ledge. . . . . to get to me. Read more »
Blue Meadow
Submitted by worldismoshie on Wed, 03/03/2010 - 2:18pmI'll never forget that day,
right in the middle of May.
Everything was cast with sunshine,
meaning for summer it was time.
I looked up and saw it all,
even more amazing than fall.
It was as mysterious as the sun,
no memories like that; it stunned.
Crazily and horribly beautiful,
so fake you could call fanciful.
With the force of thunder at midnight,
I could feel my heart skip a beat.
I lost sight;
but I knew to fear there was no need,
and from my lips came the words:
That was the most brilliant color blue I've ever seen.
The Blue Room
Submitted by dmorrison on Tue, 03/02/2010 - 1:17pmI walked down the hall to Mr. Morrison’s classroom on the first day of school. I was extremely nervous about seeing Mr. Morrison again and about the start of the new school year. I stepped into Mr. Morrison’s homeroom and nearly passed out!
Mr. Morrison had painted his entire room the most astonishing, brilliant color of blue on the planet. It was the most brilliant blue I‘d ever seen -- not too light and not too dark, this blue was perfect. This color blue was like the sky. Read more »
Unforgettable Week
Submitted by alpacaVT on Mon, 03/01/2010 - 1:43pmIt was the most brilliant color blue I’d ever seen. I thought as we pulled up to Courtney’s house. Her house was a soft baby blue and looked remarkable. As she got into my stunning blue Toyota Matrix, we both laughed in happiness. Courtney and I hadn’t seen each other in three months and missed each other. She was staying over at my house, for a whole week and we both felt overjoyed. Read more »
Blue in Iraq
Submitted by Story Of My Life on Wed, 02/17/2010 - 8:31amI had never seen a more brilliant shade of blue
then when I lifted my gun, aimed and fired.
I saw agony constrict that particular shade,
though I don't remember feeling remorse until later.
Woke up in a hospital bed
they said the expolosion could've killed me dead.
I asked about the boy with the brilliant blue eyes
they looked at me, eyes in disguise:
"There was no boy. You were all alone."
So my memory pieced together an earlier event;
placed it in the present.
I was missing an arm, a leg and my pride
but I could only think of the boy who had died

The Seas That We Sail
Submitted by Zachariah.Brown on Fri, 01/29/2010 - 3:01pmThe seas that we sail,
Are blue and wide.
The seas that we sail,
Are filled by the gods when they cry.
The sky where we fly,
Are blue and wide.
The sky where we fly,
Is where birds like to glide.
The icebergs we scale,
Are blue and wide.
The icebergs we scale,
Has caused people to die.
Blue
Submitted by olivergirl on Mon, 12/07/2009 - 6:50pmThe ocean
Waves lapping on the shore
Sea gulls crying
Water is aqua blue.
The sky
Always there above me
White clouds
Bright sun
Seamless blue.
The flowers
Blooming in the spring
Peeping through the snow
Bursting from buds
Tender petals lightly tinted blue.
His eyes
They stole my heart
They looked into mine
And sparkled in the sun.
The sun that rested in
The sky
As we walked beside
The ocean
Gazing at
The flowers
We had made with shells.
All these things
I looked
And saw blue.
It was
The most brilliant color
Blue I'd ever seen
But was was it.

Submitted by someonebroken on Thu, 03/12/2009 - 8:30amI have never seen such a brilliant shade of blue as the color of his eyes and the way they looked that day,
piercing into my stare the way I have come to love.
The blue that looks at me everyday.
The sorrow in your eyes shining through.
The depth of them, i keep searching for something bigger.
The sadness beneath them is so apparent.
So, please, show me another shade

Why the sea is blue
Submitted by rebeccasexton on Fri, 03/06/2009 - 6:58pmBy Noel Hurka
Clarendon Elementary School, Grade 5
One day the sun was shining bright yellow and the sky was sparkling blue but the sea had no color at all. It couldn't make its own color, it had to mimic one. So, it sat there, colorless and glum. One day came where the sky noticed the sea had no color. So the sky said, "You can have some of my color if you give me some of yours." The sea agreed, and the sky gave the sea some color to have and the sea gave the sky the sky white puff things to hide behind for some sleep.<--break-->

blue:
is a sad song
a diamond
a big open sea
blue is the sky after a big storm
a beautiful violet
a pair of eyes
a blue jay
blue is a berry
a sweet candy
a butterfly
a pair of jeans
blue is a new car
Blue is...
Two-Tone Poem
Submitted by on your wayy DOWN. on Tue, 02/10/2009 - 1:20pmThere's a part of me
that's SKY BLUE:
Cool, calm, and relaxed.
Sky blue is confidence,
Not caring what people
think.
Saying what I want,
laughing when I want,
and never feeling too
awkward.
Then, of course, other times I'm
SCREAMING.
BRIGHT.
WHITE.
But hopefully only on the
inside.
So much chaotic energy
I think I could explode;
Probably not a good explosion.
These colors may seem similar
to you,
but the white
burns,
while the blue is serene.
The colors feel so
opposite,
But unfortunately they are both
me.
Colors of Me
Submitted by Caitlin Persa on Tue, 02/10/2009 - 1:09pmColors of Me
I will not lie
I favor one color of me
Over another
For you rarely see
The orange side of me
Orange that is confidence
Orange that ignores judgment
And glares and bumps on the street
What is seen is blue
The shyness created by a weak ego
Blue shines through my eyes
Down into the heart
Sadness that I can’t be
Something, someone else
Orange how I wish I could see
You come and save me from
My sea of blue

Harmony of Hues
Submitted by tangerinesunset on Fri, 01/30/2009 - 7:21pmI have never seen such a brilliant shade of blue.
But as I grasp its pulse,
a presence roars within my understanding;
a simple shade it refuses to be, but a harmonic hue it supplies.
Sapphire symphony
Aqua oasis
Cobalt kingdom
But admiring is an ignorance of the past.
My instinctive leap is greeted by gravity,
its grace granting my goal of
becoming one with this roaring being.
As the palace of waves swallows me,
I am still dreaming:
I have never seen such a brilliant shade of blue.
What a Brilliant Shade of Blue
Submitted by technochik on Fri, 01/30/2009 - 2:02pmWhat a brilliant shade of blue
There are so many different kinds
To many for me to learn
But maybe if given some time
I can learn a couple
I’ve never been very good with colors
Especially not this particular one
Too many shades to know
Instead of just simply one
Blue
Submitted by epentaleri on Fri, 01/30/2009 - 12:23pmBlue, the sky, the water where the little fishes swim.
Blue, the sky, where the clouds float.
Blue, where ocean waves go up, then disappear.
Blue, some one is sad.
When she looks up and sees the sky, she is not blue,
But the sky is. So is the water. Then the ocean.
At you.
Submitted by riah12 on Thu, 01/29/2009 - 1:14pmYour eyes are the entrance to your soul.
Filled with your fears, your sorrows and your secrets untold.
The truth hidden behind those crystal eyes.
Betrayed by deceit and lies.
Sorrow seeps from inside those crystal blue eyes.
I've never seen such a brilliant shade of blue.
Staring straight at you.

Blue Skies
Submitted by dschein on Thu, 01/29/2009 - 12:29pmI have never seen
such a brilliant shade of blue.
It seems to go on forever,
never stopping.
It shines in the air
so brightly you can’t look at it
for too long.
It seems to swallow you up,
as you lie there in the grass
and feel the suns hot heat
as it blazes down above you.
You want to lie there forever
and never return to the real
world.
For lying there you think
of nothing at all.
You feel the soft touch
of the wind as it blows softly by.
You think of nothing.
Nothing at all.
Blue Glory
Submitted by cbaker on Thu, 01/29/2009 - 12:25pmBlue Glory
A blue jay,
sitting on a branch in the
dead of winter,
just perching on his throne,
with his crown high on his head.
A sapphire,
sparkling in the luminous light.
Carrying such beauty,
in its own little way
it’s hard to elucidate.
A blue tang fish,
swimming freely in the
wide open sea,
taking its time to make friends
with clown fish that are around.
A blue morpho butterfly,
resting on an exquisite flower
after a pleasant flutter,
lovely in every way,
just soaring through the sky.
I have never seen
such brilliant shades of blue.
In their own unique way,
they have different brilliances that
one must admire.
