Breath in me, gods and spirits for the under-deep journey is long and strenuous, and young mortal man Remus has devoted his life to aquatic achievement. He grew up around sea animals and could beat any fish or mammal in the ocean. Remus had also defeated every other man on the Earth in a match of swimming skill, yet our young hero Remus wanted a challenge still. The only being alive on Earth that posed any threat to the title was Poseidon, god of the raging seas. If Remus could become victor he would assume Poseidon’s reign over the seas and become recognized as a god on Mount Olympus.

When I visit cities around the country I realize how much I love the landscape and people that make up the Green Mountain State. Our state’s tourist numbers prove my point. Many out-of-state citizens enjoy Vermont very much, from the lake to the mountains. I am proud, and grateful to have these opportunities in my backyard. As a Vermonter I feel a responsibility to preserve these attractions so others who are not as fortunate to live in Vermont can partake in their beauty as well. To me being a Vermonter is a privilege as well as a responsibility. Although Vermont is a small state, nevertheless I am still very proud to call myself a Vermonter because Vermont has had a great impact on my life.

Not long before the Argo returned to Iolcus King Pelia offered a contest for the most beautiful of his daughters, Alcestis. Many Kings from all around came to partake in the contest. One of the kings was King Admetus who wished to marry Alcestis as well. With the help of Apollo he won the contest and married Alcestis. When they forgot to make the usual sacrifice to Artemis the couple was cursed. To reverse the situation Admetus made a deal with Hades regarding his soul after death. Through trickery and resourcefulness Admetus and Alcestis bested Hades and continued their lives.

Sam and his men found a lake,
Not long after 1608,
“We’ll name it for me,”
His men all agreed,
And now it is named for his sake
The wonderful lake was a reef,
Long before any Indian chief,
Upon it some battles were fought,
And many large fish to be caught,
Today no more coral or chief
We’ve even got a white whale
Discovered while building a rail,
Some men came upon it,
And thought something of it,
And now its complete tip to tail
No more warships patrol the lake,
Now it’s ferries for the citizen’s sake,
Much fishing is done,
Some enjoy the sun,
Fun for all to partake
There is some suspicious activity,
Champ is quite the celebrity,
He rarely is seen,
Some say he’s mean,
I’m convinced it’s because he’s wary
