14. Procrastination. If you had more time, you’d be able to put it off longer. What do you put off to the last moment? Why? Tell a story about how you just barely got something done in time – or didn’t.
Alternate: Splat! Use that word in a story or a poem.

Snowflake

Snowflake

I’m a snowflake, alone on the sidewalk.
Alone and cold.
No one stops by to see this miracle.
Soon I’m going to die, no one will care.
I was here, now I’m gone
I’m not going to be missed
cause I was never here.
I’m a minute snowflake.
One minute here, next minute gone.

Cloud

Cloud

I’m a cloud, alone in the sky.
Others don’t see why I cry.
I traveled the world; saw the good and the bad.
Everyday I fly and see this awful world that makes me cry.
I see poverty, wars, and death.
I see kids crying, and I see those who don’t care.
I see everything from East to West.
My friends cry too, under the blue.

Silver

Silver

What if we were all silver, no black and no white, just silver: Would there be racism?

If the trees were silver:
Would we exist and breathe the same air?

What if the Earth were silver:
Would we still be divided into groups of people:
Would our land be divided into unequal pieces?

What if our food was silver, silver and all the same:
Would we all look the same and not be judged?

Would we have a better life, with the color silver?

Islam

ISLAM

In modern time, we have many different people who believe in various different religions. Each religion has its own rituals and expectations. Christianity is worlds' biggest religion, followed by Islam, being the second largest religion. Many people have different opinions about Islam, and many opinions are stated with such a little knowledge of this religion.

One thing that stands out to me so much is how so many people just think about Iraq when they think about Islam. Muslims live worldwide and they are not all Iraqis or terrorists. Not all Iraqis are terrorists. Just because a few people from that country decided to do something politically unintelligent, does not mean everybody is the same. Muslims are just like Christians. Some are religious, some are not, some are proud of their religion, and some are not. However, Muslims are treated differently.

Voting

Voting

Voting, in my opinion, should be taken very seriously. Election Day is one of those days where everyone, rich and poor, small and big, short and tall, gets to voice his or her opinion.

When people vote, they vote for someone who is going to help them and their families live a better life. No one is going to vote for a candidate who will raise taxes and take more money from them in general, or someone who is not going to help them afford better health care. People want someone who is going to change things from negative to positive, someone like Senator Barack Obama.
