All Sorts Of Types

So I met a boy...
There are all sorts of types, but this one felt different.

That's what they all say, that's why it's all lies.

He was the f**k boi type...
I know, already a bad start.
Yet he didn't do what the other ones I had met did.
He cared a little more.

Sweet words was what he always typed.
"Sweet dreams cutie"
"I like your braids"
"You have the f***ing  best smile"
However you can type fake words as easily as saying lies aloud.

Next I found myself already waiting for his notification,
His name to pop at the top of my phone.
That was the first mistake,
The second followed soon after...

What are red flags to you?
Maybe him ignoring you?
Hooking up with an ex?

What would you do?

Wait...
Before you answer, he comes back.
Cuter than before.
Showing off his body and his sensitive side.

You already know it will be a wait till he's over the ex,
So you just struggle to figure out,
Why you're there.

The next time you talk it's late at night.
He's tired but says,
"I don't wanna stop talking to you"
So you smile and you re-think your answer.

Yet, then you think to yourself,
Why hasn't he felt the need to talk to you as much?
What is going on that could be more important?

So you find out...
He has another on his mind.
He's playing a game, he's going to win.
But that just means you will loose.

You were the sweet, kind girl.
That type falls easily into those traps.
But once the drug of happiness wore off,
She saw through all her tears...

A boy, that felt different from the others.

I just went through something exactly like this. It is reassuring to know I'm not the only one who has made the mistake of giving an f boy a chance because he seemed different; and despite how he played with my heart I still feel that he's not like the others. I also just love the way this is written, every sentence flows into the next. I really like the line "However you can type fake words as easily as saying lies aloud." and I especially related to how you'd wait for him to respond & how he came back cuter than before. Thank you for sharing your story!

I’m so glad you relate. It’s so hard in this day and age to really get to know someone. Because of all the technology but when you do it can be great, or not what you’re looking for. I found writing my feelings out helped me see that this person was not who I needed in my life.
