Electric

You are one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
You are the only one who's ever believed in me like this,
Stayed with me this long,
Whose ever loved me back.

I've never felt this before.
This kind of connection,
This kind of love.
But I can tell you,
It's what wakes me up in the morning.
It's what keeps my heart beating.
It's what keeps my lungs sucking in oxygen.
It's what keeps my eyes blinking.
It's what keeps me coming back for more.

When I'm with you,
Every worry and stress melts away,
Like how a raindrop rolls down a window.
You make everything better.

When you touch me it feels like electricity is shooting from your fingertips
And trailing its way down every inch of my body.

When you play with my hair,
Everything freezes.
Every cold breeze and odd sound,
Stops.
And I am filled with warmth
While you roll locks of my hair between your fingers.

Every fleeting kiss,
Here in a blink and gone in a flash,
Makes me melt.
Wanting more,
I'm afraid,
I've never done this before.

When we dance in your kitchen,
Under the soft blue shifting lights,
Chests pressed close and foreheads resting on one another.
I wish to immortalize that moment.
Capture it on a polaroid.
So when we're looking through these photos years from now,
We can write an ode to our youth.

When you hold my hand,
I feel like I'm soaring above my body.
Like everything is meant to be this way.
Like everything is going to be okay.

I feel like I'm living a real life love story.
The kind you read about in books,
And watch on T.V
And see in movies.
I don't know what I've done to deserve this,
To deserve someone who is so in tune with themselves.
Who cares so much about me.
I don't know what I've done to deserve someone and something so wildly fantastic.
But I am going to take it,
And I'm going to run as far as I can with it.
All while counting my blessings and whispering hushed 'I love you's to you in the dark.

I really love all the very specific details in this poem, I think it adds a lot! I can feel the yearning to keep all those memories and hold onto moments that are special. Great job!
