Why...

You wake up every day go to school or work
Some days full of happiness, and some days full of hurt
Live your life to the fullest but eventually die
You live your life every day but why?

You help others around you and pursue what you love
You grow up, move out, feel freer than a dove
Work a job, get old, watch the time fly by
You lived your life every day but why

If there's no purpose in living, then there's no purpose in dying
Like being a bird, having wings, and not even flying
Like being a fish in the sea only to float on the shore
You live your life comfortably when you were destined for more

Instead, wake up every day and have a purpose in life
Have a reason to live Don't just roll like dice
Stand up! Be strong!
Believe in yourself right your wrongs
Because life, it can be like an ocean, wavy crazy but sometimes insanely amazing
So live your life Wild and Free
Be exactly what you want to be
But most importantly
Live life deliberately

I really love this! I appreciate the questioning and rhyme scheme. The use of imagery also elevates this poem. I also love the message in the poem, I think a lot of people should read it. Great job!!

New writer! New voice on YWP! Welcome M.C.junior! I agree with Kittylover07 -- could you add music and send us your audio of this piece? You can do it directly on the site or try Audacity or whatever program you choose. Let us know if you need more info.

This is really good... I especially love "Because life, it can be like an ocean, wavy crazy but sometimes insanely amazing". The rhyming really makes it sound like a song, yes. I also think that is part of what keeps the piece moving. Love it!
