Hidden in Tune

Listening to the ocean, pieces of heaven falling.
Nothing hurts anymore, that is why freedom is calling.
All I can think about is you, but today I can see it.
Home, from Alabama to Arkansas. Home, oh, I'm close to home.

When he calls me pretty, I feel like I could just float.
Hearing simple songs, until I find someone to hold me close.
No one could say no to this, no one could.
Only you, only you can stay. Even if you are no good.

Car rides on the south coast. Does she sing like I would?
All I know is that she is a lady, more than I ever could.
But this is all an illusion they say. All I know is that you and I were back then.
Making me cry in my prom dress when I felt like myself again.

But I am always upset, that you could never see us falling in love.
All of my grace such a shame that you didn't know when push comes to shove.
I'm still fixing all the pieces of my broken heart. Loving you was always a losing game.
The skies still make me feel like I'm in a dream. Feeling blue, who's to blame.

Cause I know everything will be okay, just put your hand in mine.
Cause one day, I know I'll take you back.
Dancing in the rain, finding a lover to chase.
A sunlit dream pulling me out of my place.
I told you I fell in love with it, and you wanted to fall too.
But all you were focused on was just me and you.
And that is why must let go of all of these memories.
Back when you and I were only 16.

Even though this category is about describing about how about how music sounds, I felt that I wouldn't be able to describe what it truly meant to me. Which is why I decided to take small lyrics from some of my favorite songs and change it into a poem. Even though it may not make total sense, I think overall that the music in the poem will be able to describe itself once you read it.

Fun Challenge: Try to figure out the lyrics to the songs. (22 songs in total- the last stanza has more lyrics to the same songs)

I hope you enjoy! (It's late for me right now so I hope it sounds good!)

:)

I got so excited when I recognized some of those songs! I think I found: Cloud 9, Deja Vu, Prom Dress,

Wow you did really well for some of the lines! I didn't know if I had changed them up too much but I am glad that you were able to figure some of them out! :)

I agree with Deja Vu and Cloud 9, though I don't know Arcade. It's hard because I feel like I recognize a lot of the phrases, but can't put a name to it. Though I love how you used the challenge and made it your own, and this poem is absolutely beautiful, great work!!
