Ladybug Fields

Poppy fields of red and black,
filling my vision with ladybug petals,
I feel a warm breeze on my back,
closing my eyes against the sun,
and shapes flutter on a black screen,
forming monsters that I can't outrun,
so I open my eyes,
and readjust to the new bright shapes,
that float across a pastel sky,
a flowery world,
with fields of red,
and splatters of black;
ladybug fields.

    I like the circular endings that you always incorporate in your writing-- they tie everything together beautifully and leave the reader with a thoughtful lasting message.
