*Sighs in Gatorade* ahh how I miss you

Shh!
It’s 11:24 again
Everyone’s asleep
I tiptoe quietly to the door

As I shut it ever so slightly,
in front of me,
you
aka my next door neighbor
aka the girl of my dreams
aka the most gorgeous person in the world

As we walk towards each other,
I gaze into you
settling my palms
underneath your cool neck,
eye to eye,
smile at the ready

I missed you

I missed you more

I missed you the most

Nof if I missed you first
;)

;)

Hand in hand,
we walk in the half-lit darkness
submerging ourselves

We walk extra slow
because our time together
is running out

The night wind
brushes your hair
into my face,
how limitless it was
like I hoped this night to be

Luckily it’s just the two of us
joking
laughing
screaming
through the night

Until we finally come across the store

and we look at it

and I remember

the day we both darted to that cooler

for that last Gatorade

How we both touched it
feeling silence,
then our bodies turning face to face
staring into that Gatorade
(and each other)

as the cashier leaned over,

um, you do know there are more in the coo-

but we immediately say,

but this is the last tropical red

I snap back into existence
Life
You
Whatever you want to call it
When I subconsciously ask you,
the flavors

White Lightning?

Eugh that’s disgusting

How bout’ the orange one?

Not in the mood

Lime green?

Ooh yes! … dang out of stock

Blue bolt?

It looks like cleaning fluid… but blue is my favorite color…

Whaaaaaaat? It’s not green?

Is there a problem with that?

Ugh fine, Mountain Dew?

GOD FORBID-

I’m kidding! I’m kidding!

How your goosebumps tickled my hand
taking the Gatorade
with the other

How relieved your face was
putting it on your head
like an ice pack

Now, we step back into the darkness

You take off your glasses

Your only piece of makeup
(it’s a very private affair)
and you close your eyes,

as you sip in the smallest of gulps,

One gulp,

Pause

Two gulps,

Pause

Three gulps,

Pause

and you open your eyes

as you hand it to me

As the Gatorade trickles to its last drops,

we are at our doors again

Will we see each other again?

I grip your hand tightly,

hating what I say next

I don’t know

so I kiss you harder like I’ve never kissed anyone before

so I hug you tighter like I’ve never hugged anyone before

so I love you illimitably like I’ve never loved anyone before

but I will forever and ever

and only

Gatorade with you.

So sweet! What a story. Felt like I was there.

Dear Lord, please put your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth.

Wow. I felt like I was there, i could see everything in my mind. It made me put my hand to my heart, which I never do unless I really feel something. Absolutely beautiful, enjoy your gatorade ;)

( I think I made you up inside my head )

This is beautiful! Such a delirious summer moment and the more universal themes really spoke to some of my personal experiences :)
