A Haunted House With A Picket Fence

A couple weeks ago, my language arts teacher had us write poems using only song titles. I thought it would be more fun to write a poem with song lyrics. I did not come up with any of the lyrics, I pulled them from different songs and arranged them to make this poem. The songs used are "I Know The End", "Garden Song", "Kyoto", "Smoke Signals", "Chinese Satellite", "Funeral", "Would You Rather", "Savior Complex", Killer", "Chelsea", "Punisher", "Scott Street", and "Moon Song" by Phoebe Bridgers. "Little Trouble", "Forest Lawn", and "Dylan Thomas" are by Better Oblivion Community Center (Rock duo Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes)) It's kinda sad, but enjoy!(:

Somewhere in Germany, but I can't place it,
man I hate this part of Texas.
Someday, I'm gonna live
In your house up on the hill
I'll plant a garden in the yard.
Glueing roses, on a flatbed
you should see it
I mean thousands.
It must be something in the water,
everything's growing in our garden.

Sunset's been a freak show on the weekend
So I've been driving out to the suburbs
Out in the park, we watch the sun set
talking on a rusty swing set.
Not even the burnouts are out here anymore.
I wanted to see the world through your eyes
then I flew over the ocean.
Driving out into the sun
Let the ultraviolet cover me up.
And all of our problems, I'm gonna solve 'em
With you riding shot-gun, speeding 'cause why not.
Either way, we're not alone

I'll find a new place to be from
A haunted house with a picket fence.
The future's unwritten
The past is a corridor.
Sometimes when I can't sleep
It's just a matter of time before I'm hearing things
Swore I could feel you through the walls
But that's impossible.

All the bad dreams that you hide
show me yours, and I'll show you mine
And I have this dream where I'm screaming underwater
While my friends are all waving from the shore
Quarantined in a bad dream
When I think too much about it I can't breathe

I'll tell you that I love you, I'll scream it twice
You ask over the music, "Did I hear that right?"
Yes, I swear I told you in some past life
Right before they counted us off
It's the luck of the draw

Playing would you rather
when it comes to fire
you always say that you'd prefer to drown
What if I told you I feel like I know you
But we never met?
I know there's something waiting for us

We're both very sick, our muscles all worn down
But when I'm sick and tired
And when my mind is barely there
When a machine keeps me alive
And I'm losing all my hair
I hope you kiss my rotten head
And pull the plug
Know that I've burned every playlist
And I've given all my love

Only your lonesome lies beside you
You are somebody's baby
Some mother held you near
No it's not important, they're just pretty words
I scared you in your house
even scared myself by talking about Dahmer on your couch
Do you feel ashamed
When you hear my name?
Anyway, don't leave a stranger
Don't be a stranger.
Since you went underground
I've wanted to dig you out

Now I'm dreaming
And you're singing at my birthday
I've never seen you smiling so big

There's flowers in the rubble
The weeds are gonna tumble

No, I'm not afraid to disappear
Yeah, I guess the end is here.
The end is here.
