poetry challenge: Hope

Hope!

“Hope is the thing with feathers / That perches in the soul, / And sings the tune without the words, / And never stops at all.”
- Emily Dickinson

Hope is the thing with feathers, that carries us through the worst times, and floats us through the best.
When our feathers wear thin, our ability to fly withers.
It perches tall and proud, it may perch small, and it may take an extra second to find it.
Hope resides inside us, rarely letting up, always "singing the tune without words."
Even when the feathers wear thin, its size is small, and its tunes dwindle, you can still find it.
Hope, no matter the size, is always able to be found.
