Feeling Alive, But...

Splish, Splosh.

The paint drips from the canvas onto the floor, swirling with other colors to create new hues. It evokes warmth in your heart, excited that it all came out as you intended. Inspiration from the world around you – each color, shape, and movement intertwines to make the final product.

Through art, you make your dreams come to life and show the world that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. You come home, run up the stairs, and are ready to start a new piece.

However, the disappointment on your parents' faces when they see your grades is overwhelming. They compare you to your siblings or cousins, saying, "They have good grades, they can do these things. Why can't you?" But you are different individuals, living in different worlds.

Constantly feeling exhausted and unmotivated, they make jokes about others around you. But being compared to others hurts, and being joked about as if you are not a living person is painful. Why can't they understand that?

I feel this so deeply. It's so hard when you finally finally have a good day and you're inspired and ready to create something beautiful and then you go back and find out the people around did not, in fact, have a good day and they are determined to tear you down. That feeling sucks, thank you for putting it into words <3

( I think I made you up inside my head )

    Thank you so much!!!
I am so happy that you could understand the importance of all the words on the poem!
I’m sorry that you can relate to it cause I know how it feels to deal with all of this stuff, but it’s comments like yours that help more then you know.
And no need to thank me it putting all of this into words, I love writing and reading comments like yours everyday or week. It inspires me to keep going, so I have to thank you and many others for that! <3
