Oh Athena, Goddess of war and wisdom.
You look over your city of Athens with those piercing gray eyes of yours.
But behind all that happiness and light in your eyes, there is a fire.
A fire that cannot be extinguished.
A fire of anger and sorrow.
For Paris, prince of Troy, did not give you the gift you so desperately wanted.
Instead he gave it to your sister, Aphrodite, Goddess of love and beauty.
That gift was the golden apple,
and it was to be gifted to the most beautiful Goddess.
And it was not you or Hera who was picked.
It was Aphrodite.
You disguise this untouchable fire with the love for your sister.
But deep down you still have a feeling.
A feeling of loss.
That is the feeling you will have behind your beautiful smile.
That is the feeling you will have even though you are a powerful Goddess.
That is the feeling you will have for all of eternity.
A feeling of loss.

Love hearing the story from the perspective of Athena, brilliant! (I just started reading the Iliad in Greek, so this is super fun to read!)
