Failed Revolutionary

Your crippled heart
bathed its hands in yesterday's
      tommorows. Assurances
that you never
got the chance to keep.
      Too stale–too busy.
No, this is not
your failure
      alone. But
it is your failure
nonetheless. You burned
      the visage of utopia
into your eyes, by
the mid-day sun. But
      sunset casts long
shadows, and the earth
turns faster than
      you think. Faster
than you dream.

    mind like body like tool
    cruel in kind places
