Alli and I

Alli started at our house one summer when her dog ran away and Alli's mom had to go catch him. Alli was freaking out and very apprehensive about being left outside the apartment building with a random person she barely knew. Bethaney, who is Alli mom, was shocked with how well and how fast my mom was able to calm her down and make her feel comfortable with us. That was the day my mom was asked if she could start taking care of Alli. From that day on, Alli's and my bond had our ups and downs, like any relationship, and in the end it was strong.
I learned a lot from Alli about caring for a child and how to do different things in a different way. Alli had a speech problem and, in the beginning, it was really hard for me to understand a lot of what she was saying to me. Over time, I was able to start picking up on different things she said, and I was able to understand her really well. This helped me be able to understand more kids with speech problems. I also know how important it is to have a good bond with children in order to teach them new things. If you have a better bond with someone, you will be able to understand them more and they will be able to understand you more so the relationship helps with the learning aspect.
I really want to be an early educator—not just because it has been a family tradition starting with my great grandmother and down the line of women in the family. I have always looked up to my grandmother’s childcare, which happens to be one of the longest running childcare in the state of Vermont. I have grown up around children and helped them, including volunteering over 100 hours at an early education center during high school. I have a creative mind, and I like to help people learn new things. Starting at the root of the education ladder is a great way for me to help set children up for a successful future.
I will be the first person  in my family to go to college, which has always been a dream of mine. I want to get somewhere in life and not be stuck behind. This will be my opportunity to take my skills to the next level and be able to prove I am worth something and can help people. I have a strong work ethic, and even when I get frustrated I always end up finishing a task even if it seems as though I'm not going to be able to get it done. Thanks to everything I have already learned from Alli and everyone else, I am ready to continue learning and improving my skills.    this was my college enterie essay
