Power Outage

Some people can go hours without going on their phones.
Others can only go a few seconds.
I envy the people who can on for hours and not care if their phones are getting blown up.
I can only go a few minutes.
Every notification I get I need to check.

Today the power went out.
It was only out for half an hour but to me it felt like forever.

I was scared the boy I liked was going to text me something,
I was scared I was going to get a call from someone important,
I could make a list of things I thought was going to happen.

When the power came back I only had 1 notification.
It was from a group chat where a kid just said "HI".

I was gong crazy for half an hour thinking that something so important was going to happen to me when all that happened was a kid sayng "HI
"
People at my age are probobly asking their parents repetedly for a phone but phones aren't the best!
I have so much enxiety coming from my phone,
I love being able to talk with my friends without seeing their faces,
but with something so amazing comes with the price of enxiety and in some cases depresion.

Electronics arn't all they are out to be.
Sometimes I envy the people who don't have phones.
They don't have to go through thinking "What's going to be said next"

Today when the power went out it thought me a very important lesson,
"Dont focus on what's going to happen next, focus on what's happening now."
