Backspace happy

Backspace happy
Backspace giddy
When they need to dust for prints
The delete button on my chromebok will Provide
Backspace eager
There is not a sentence published whole
If my words were people there would be phantom pains from limbs invisibly amputated
Backspace prone
I wear Mardi Gras masks draped in beads and glitter and red paint
There is nothing to entice me to take it off and it will not slip because I erase my words I am
Backspace dancing
My fingers jolt to the right
Tango with an old friend and know how his hand locks perfectly into yours
That is how I know the air around my delete key and it beckons to me
Falling back on backspace
If all else fails you can always go down
There will always be something to delete until the slate is clean enough to lie into
Backspace happy

It was just a fluke that I happened to see

The ghost of a girl in 1893

I didn't think much of her, tried to ignore

But then she came 'round in 1894

A spirit was not something that I had wanted

Did you know that, when you wrote me, I was made of papercuts

That I was ink and glue and wax but mostly, I was papercuts

Did you know that, when you read me, I am made of memories
