Muted

people are
no longer three dimensional

instead
they are flat
like the screen of my laptop

they look
like they are dead inside

big eyes
with circles under them
staring through the camera

frozen
smiling vaguely

it's just a little creepy
the way we're all silent
muted

no one is speaking
and if they are
we are not able to hear them

and when 
a teacher asks a question
they have to beg

no one wants to un-mute
no one wants to be heard anymore
