The snow has finally fallen and it's now my favorite season. The way the cold air greets me as I walk out the door in the morning is amazing. I have to start my car at least 10 minutes before I leave so I can see out the windshield. The drive to school is warm but I know I will be cold again when I get out of the car. The school is always cold but the trees covered in snow outside are so pretty. During class all I can think about is going skiing over the weekend. The first ski of the year is my favorite. I always forget how much I love it but the minute i'm out there doing it again i'm so happy. It reminds me why winter is my favorite.
It's finally the weekend and I've already made plans to go skiing. I pack my bag Saturday night, making sure I have plenty of warm clothes. I plan to leave first thing in the morning so I can get a whole day of skiing in. I went to bed early that night, so excited for tomorrow.
It’s Sunday morning at 7am, I just left the house and I'm making the long drive to the mountain. I pull in and I see the nicest powder I've seen in awhile. My friend and I get our passes and go to the lodge to get our stuff on. We put on our snow pants, boots, coats, mittens, and helmets. We find our skis on the rack and head to the chair lift. There's no line because it's still early. When we get to the top we look down the trail and there are no ski marks yet. We’re the first people down the mountain and it's the best feeling.
We ski until the mountain closes. We go back to the lodge to get all of our stuff together. When I take off my boots I instantly feel the pain in my feet. That's one way to know it was a good day of skiing. Before I leave I get myself a hot chocolate for the way home to warm me up. I get home and put all of my stuff away. I take a warm shower and head to bed. Dreading that I have school tomorrow but glad I had an amazing day.
