End to Begin

After running circles, and dodging rocks,
blistered hands, and torn up socks,
I had finally reached the end.
Standing in the middle of the old dirt road,
my mind was at peace,
for I thought I returned home,
I could hear the soft breeze.
As I gazed up at the horizon,
covered by crisp trees,
I couldn’t help but reminisce,
about the journey that saved me.
A hundred miles deep,
yet zero miles in my mind,
it was a cleanse much needed,
it’s good to be kind.
Although the adventure has ended,
and now I’m at ease,
endings are new beginnings,
there’s nothing left except me.

  • Gone with a Breeze

I sat quietly on the beach minding my own business.
I watched as the waves washed over the dampened sand.
The sun glistened on the pebbles, and the clouds moved ever so slowly.
The beach was quiet, but my thoughts were loud.
  • New Beginnings

I walked through the forest at dusk. I could hear the faint sound of an owl calling my name as I stumbled over fallen trees. It was dark, yet I knew of the clearing ahead of me. I kept walking, trying to avoid tree branches slowly threatening me.
