My Right

Where I live, there has been a lot of fighting
Sending words back and forth we are a country divided
All for a law still in the writing.

Now, through history I have noticed a pattern
That has left young girls feeling violated and battered
And for years now people have felt the right to state
That a woman’s choice and her body can be put up for debate.

We are not objects or delicate flowers
We have voices and words we’ve been screaming for hours
But nothing can penetrate a ceiling of glass
Into the quiet bubble of the ruling class

All your arguments seem to quote a being divine
But what right does he have to restrict and confine

Those seen as less than

Unequal to

The worthier man

  • Restless Energy

    I have this restless energy
That leaves me in total disarray
I’m not sure what to do with her
    What exactly could I say?

I’m not sure how I know she’s here
But it’s a feeling that builds up inside
  • Of the Chronic Sort

    Look, I understand
    you’re just trying to relate
    Pain makes you uncomfortable
    It’s a very human trait

    I am not in favor
Of the pain my body makes
And I will not be offended
If there’s not a part of you that aches
