The Light is on in the Little Room

The lights are on in the little room
Telling a story of a life unseen
Mouths move in tales untold
Laughter seen but never heard
Except,
When the lights are on in the little room

The lights through the glass are like the smell of a book
Drawing you in as it comes,
And goes
Dinners for two in a small well lit room
Bring a warmth to my heart as I slowly pass by
The light is on in the little room

The warm yellow glow is a welcoming sight
When the world is swallowed by the depths of the night
And as I move through I smile and think
What a magical thing
To see the lights turn on in the little room

  • Restless Energy

    I have this restless energy
That leaves me in total disarray
I’m not sure what to do with her
    What exactly could I say?

I’m not sure how I know she’s here
But it’s a feeling that builds up inside
  • Of the Chronic Sort

    Look, I understand
    you’re just trying to relate
    Pain makes you uncomfortable
    It’s a very human trait

    I am not in favor
Of the pain my body makes
And I will not be offended
If there’s not a part of you that aches
