Corn Maze

I turn the corner, another dead end. I turn back around and go left, right, left, another dead end. Just three hours ago I was free, driving, wind in my face, music blaring. Now I'm in this impossible maze. This is my worst nightmare. Not to mention I have a party to go to.  This was all supposed to be a fun activity for me now it's starting to get dark and I'm mad. I turn around and turn right instead of left, then I go left, right, right again, no dead end yet. I am running ready to get out, dead end! I head back the way I came, going down new passages at a dead end each time. I head towards the very beginning and decide to make a random right turn, I start walking knowing I'm going to have to turn around. I'm Walking for twenty minutes, no dead ends. Soon I see a building, I'm running fast. I get to this gazebo, there is a left and right turn. I go right dead end, I go left, dead end.
This is impossible. It has now been four hours and I have no idea how much of the maze I have left. The sun is setting, I have no water, food, and it's supposed to rain tonight. Im screwed. I pull out my phone hoping there is reception, nothing. I decide to rest in the gazebo for a bit and then start the maze again. An hour passes of me just staring ahead. I decide to turn back the way I came and notice that I missed a right turn, I go down the path. I see a clearing and run. As I get closer it's just the middle with six paths sprouting from it. ¨It's over, I'm going to die out here!”I think to myself. I decided to just sleep, if I relax and rest I'll rethink everything tomorrow.
I wake up to the sun beaming in my face. Relieved it didn't rain. I realize there is a big sign that says´WATER” I didn't see it yesterday because it was so dark. I grab water and chug it. I take another one for the way. I chose to start from the path farthest right, dead end. The next one, dead end. The next two are also dead ends. The next path goes on with an option to only go right. I go right and it's a straight path. For an hour I walk still going straight making sure not to miss a hidden path. I get to a truck. Keyes in it. On it is painted ¨Almost there¨ with a devil face. I stand on the truck, I can't see anything from above it so I keep walking. Dead end. No other ways. I officially want to give up until I see an arrow under the truck. I get in and drive it into the path. I follow the arrow, leading me to go straight for another hour. I turn left and I'm free. Another sign saying ¨How long did it take you?” There is a book next to it, pages filled with names and times. I sit there reading through noticing it took one person three days and the quickest half a day. I'm proud of my one and a half days. I get in my car and head home. Realizing the name of the maze is called ¨Corn for days¨.

  • Black Lives Matter

You say, “Make America great again.” But what you really mean is “Make America white again.” All lives matter, right? Then why is this world so unfair? People are living here in America who have to fear for their lives every day. Why?
  • Bucket List

I have many different things on my bucket list for what I dream of doing. One of them is something I have wanted to do for so long, and that would be to travel around Europe for a year.
