How to climb the Eiffel Tower: Part two

Rain lashes and whips at her wet hair.
She struggles to grasp the intricate, metal structure.
People down on the ground look up in awe- so scared
And confused.
all she can see is the rusty copper
But she forces her eyes to zoom out
And look down.

Everything is clear in her eyes
People
Paris

Confounded policemen and hopeless paramedics
Life
Enevitable death.
One of the paramedics is looking at his phone.
For some reason, this strikes her as funny.

Climbing
Cramped muscles
Almost

Regret.
Pure determination
Strength
And the wild wind
Get her higher
Way up
Way

up.

Now there's press
Photographers
Touristss holding up wet phones in wet hands
And numb fingers
She has to admit a little of this
Has to do with the glory.

And
Almost to the top
She can't believe it
And  neither can
All of Paris
Holding it's breath
For the maniac on the Eiffel Tower
She basks a little in the-
If you can call it glory

And then
Glory hallelujah
One finger touches the spire

Tentatively
Then stroking the electric snake
She gives
A war cry
For miles around
And
Dives
Dies.
