My first tongue twister

It was the first one I ever heard.
I learned it the first time I was in a play,
The Velveteen Rabbit, it was called.
The tongue twister went something like this:
"To sit in solem silence on a dull, dark, dock,
In a pestuantal prison, with a life long lock.
Awaiting the sensation of a short, sharp, shock,
with a chip and chippy chipper on a big black block."
Now you try.

    when
    people are dying
    people are mistreated
    people are misguided
    people are screaming
    people are crying
    people are morning
    people are shouting
    people are angry

    I say "people"

    Our world is on repeat
    until everything is better

Our lives are going to be the same
    until everything is better

The same frequency over and over again
    lulling us to sleep.

    Endless nightshifts and worries
