Think

time flies like a startled bird
as quickly as it can.

while tree branches twist and twirl
In the eddies of the wind.

the world spins ever faster
on it's invisible axle

and nobody stops to think
they just let their mindless feet

carry them faster and faster,
past her

the lonely girl with the raven black hair
in the body invisible

while her mind reels
with thoughts unpredictable

they taunt and tease
harm and hurt her

tell her that she's worthless
with evil smirks and ruthless chuckles

she ponders the unthinkable
wondering if that choice is better

than staying here
an emotional beggar

looking for what no one wants to give
searching for the thing that keeps itself hidden

she thinks it might be easier
to leave behind her burden

and let go of everything
loosen her grasp on that icy handle

and let herself fall
towards that raging river.

think on this
please think hard

what you do and say
affects everyone

including those you never stop to see or hear
just because you don't see something
doesn't mean it's not there.

just like the girl, with the raven black hair.

Each stack higher than its former

    Every thought and every scrap

Of an idea too scared to ponder

How do I push the words out
    From behind my taffy tongue
    Thick with salty tears
    And full of grubby thumb

    I’m a child
    Pretending that I’m numb
    To escape the overwhelming feelings

    Why

When feet fall soft but quick

    Does the hallway extend

And the hot breath of whoever’s behind me feel hotter

Why do I stay pressed to the wall

    Like a stubborn gruby sticker
