Popcorn

Momma takes out the big blue pot
That lots of tiring, long days bought.
She fills it to the brim with seeds
And other things that popcorn needs.
She genty places it on the burner
While hungry tummies rumble in the corner.
The stove is hot,
The children caught.
"Don't touch or you'll be burned!
Goodness me, you'll never learn."
Into the pot she places butter,
Muttering words that all cooks mutter.
On goes the top,
Crackle, pop!
Finally the children get to eat,
Buttered popcorn, what a treat!
