A Reverse Poem

I know the truth
Nothing matters
In the end
And I don’t believe that
Things happen for a reason
I know
That it doesn’t matter what I do
So I won’t pretend
That I have some greater destiny
That I can make a difference
That someone will care
I believe
We are all insignificant
We only pretend that
It will all amount to something
I wish people understood how wrong they are
Our actions mean nothing
We are told that
We will do great things
We will not do great things
So don’t listen when they say
You can change the world
Don’t listen to their lies
